Power Rangers is a long-running and beloved American superhero show inspired by Japanese Tokusatsu productions. Each season typically features a main team of Rangers, often joined by additional heroes. These supporting Rangers frequently have unique colors not usually seen in the core team. While many of these extra Rangers are incredibly powerful, that’s not always true – some, like Orion, might not be fan favorites, but they definitely rank among the strongest.
The Lightspeed Silver Ranger consistently ranks as a fan favorite throughout the Power Rangers series. Beyond his impressive power, he’s become a truly iconic character. While Silver Rangers aren’t as common as some other secondary colors, they always bring a compelling dynamic to the show. However, some Silver Rangers stand out as particularly strong and memorable.
5. Orion’s Super Megaforce Silver Ranger Has Access to the Powers of Every Previous Sixth Ranger

Orion becomes a member of the Megaforce Rangers during the show’s second season, though it wasn’t very well-received. Like the other Megaforce Rangers, Orion can use the powers of past Rangers. He’s unique in that he can access the powers of all additional Rangers from the series, including those of Tommy Oliver like the Green and White Rangers. He frequently uses the powers of previous Silver Rangers, such as the Wild Force Lunar Wolf Ranger and the Silver Space Ranger. While he may not have as much fighting experience as the others, Orion has access to some of the strongest transformations and giant robots (Zords) in the entire Power Rangers franchise.
The alien Ranger can also transform into the Super Megaforce Gold Ranger. This form gives him the combined power of all past auxiliary Rangers, displayed as their helmet designs across his suit. His silver suit gains gold accents, maintaining a pirate-like look, though he still feels a bit different from the rest of the team despite his immense strength.
Orion has a special skill: he can combine his Ranger keys to gain new powers. He mostly does this with the extra keys from the RPM Rangers, but he might be able to do it with other keys as well. Unfortunately, this ability isn’t used much in the Megaforce season, which is a common issue with that version of Power Rangers.
4. Tyzonn Joins the Overdrive Rangers as the Mercury Ranger After Being Freed From Corruption
Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive
Tyzonn initially starts as an enemy of the Overdrive Rangers, but later becomes their sixth member. Like many Silver Rangers in the series, he’s an alien – specifically from the planet Mercuria. However, Tyzonn possesses incredibly powerful abilities, even surpassing those of the other Overdrive Rangers. He can transform his body into liquid mercury and control the element with great skill, all without needing a special device.
This alien Ranger stands out from his teammates with a unique look, including a fin on his helmet and distinctive shoulder pads. Like the others, he can boost his power with the Defender Vest. While much of his strength comes from his alien biology, he’s still a capable Ranger. Unfortunately, he’s part of a team generally ranked as one of the weakest in the Power Rangers series.
Tyzonn, being an alien, had to adjust to life on Earth. He started the series as a powerful enemy of the Rangers, but many viewers noticed he seemed less strong after joining their team. This happens with other characters who switch from being villains to heroes, and it wasn’t unique to Tyzonn. While he continued to support the Rangers, he didn’t fight with the same intensity he had before.
3. Zhane, The in Space Silver Ranger, is Often Described as Andros’ Best Friend
Power Rangers: in Space
Image via Hasbro Zhane is the Silver Space Ranger and a close friend of Andros. He temporarily becomes the Silver Psycho Ranger as part of a plan to capture the remaining Psycho Rangers. Throughout the series, Zhane is one of the few people who truly understands Andros, often serving as his most trusted advisor. He’s also a highly skilled martial artist, second only to the leader of the In Space Power Rangers.
This character consistently provides much-needed humor throughout the series, and he’s also a capable fighter. He’s a fan favorite and arguably the main reason the team manages to succeed. While he may not be the strongest Silver Ranger ever, he definitely deserves to be included in any discussion of the best ones.
Sadly, Zhane isn’t featured in any other version of the series. While he sometimes appears in visions, he never returns as the Silver Space Ranger to fight. Orion occasionally takes on Zhane’s appearance in Megaforce, but it would have been great to see Zhane himself make a comeback.
2. Merick Baliton’s Wild Force Lunar Wolf Ranger Is One of the Most Iconic Characters in Power Rangers History
Power Rangers: Wild Force
Image via Hasbro Merick Baliton starts out as an enemy of the Power Rangers, but a curse from Master Org leads him to join their team. After being freed from the curse, he becomes the Wild Force Lunar Wolf Ranger – a particularly strong and uniquely named Ranger. Though his suit might have some blue coloring, he’s generally seen as one of the Silver Rangers, especially by fans.
Baliton is a formidable character with access to incredibly powerful Wildzords, which he skillfully utilizes. Beyond that, he wields weapons comparable to the Wild Force Rangers, and also possesses unique gear of his own. Interestingly, Merick has consistently reappeared in various Power Rangers series, even in the recent special, Power Rangers Once and Always. While he doesn’t appear as often as Tommy Oliver, he remains a well-known and popular character within the franchise.
While some fans believe Merick is stronger than Zen-Aku, the evidence doesn’t support that claim. Although his monstrous form has abilities his Power Ranger form doesn’t, he hasn’t demonstrated the same level of power. It would be interesting, though, if Merick had a design more reminiscent of Zen-Aku, similar to how Tommy Oliver looked as the original Green Ranger.
1. Ryan Mitchell’s Titanium Ranger is Among the Most Popular Auxiliary Rangers in the Franchise
Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue
Image via Hasbro Ryan Mitchell’s Titanium Ranger is widely considered the strongest and most favored Silver Ranger. He began as a key villain before switching sides to join the team, a common storyline in the series. He played a significant role in establishing the pattern for future additional Rangers and remains a fan favorite.
Mitchell, as the Titanum Ranger, is incredibly powerful. He’s much stronger than a normal person, a highly skilled fighter, and can even teleport. It’s no surprise he initially gave the Lightspeed Rangers a tough time. Luckily, he eventually starts helping them, but his powers don’t seem to work as well against his enemies.
Ryan Mitchell returns in later seasons, but never quite recaptures his original popularity with fans. While he’s remembered with affection, much of that is due to fond memories of his earlier appearances. Despite this, Mitchell is consistently portrayed as the most powerful of the Lightspeed Rangers and the strongest Silver Ranger across all the different Power Rangers series.
