Power Ranges: Every Red Power Ranger, Ranked

Power Rangers is a hugely popular action series that started in the early 1990s and is still going strong today. Over the years, the show has been reimagined many times, with each new version feeling quite different. Despite these changes, one thing always remains consistent: every team of Power Rangers includes a Red Ranger. However, these Red Rangers aren’t all the same – some are more memorable or effective leaders than others.

22. Lightspeed Rescue’s Red Ranger Is the Least Memorable Classic Ranger

Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue

Look, I get why Lightspeed Rescue isn’t everyone’s favorite. It definitely gets a lot of criticism, and a lot of it seems to fall on Carter, the Red Ranger. Honestly, a lot of the problems people have with him are problems with the whole season, but it still makes him feel a bit weaker compared to other Red Rangers. For me, the biggest issue is that it just felt…different. Everything was so practical and made by hand, and there wasn’t any sort of destiny or magical element to why Carter was chosen. It just made him feel less special, you know? It took away some of the magic that I loved about the series.

21. The Red Galaxy Ranger Fights Some Interesting Space Creatures

Power Rangers:Lost Galaxy

Leo Corbett wasn’t initially intended to be the Red Ranger; his older brother, Mike, was first chosen. However, after Mike seemingly died, Leo stepped into the role. He’s known as one of the most serious Red Rangers ever, and his reserved personality helped establish the idea that the Red Ranger should be a solemn leader. While other Red Rangers had serious moments, Danny Slavin’s portrayal of Leo is often considered the least playful and most stoic.

20. Brody Romero’s Red Ninja Steel Ranger Feels Like a Bland Copy of his Predecessors

Power Rangers: Ninja Steel

Brody Romero was taken from Earth during the Power Rangers Operation Overdrive season and spent time living on the ship of the villain, Galvanax. Eventually, he returns to Earth and gains the power to transform himself and other teenagers into Power Rangers. However, despite having an intriguing origin story, Brody doesn’t really make a strong impression. He and the other Ninja Steel Rangers feel too similar to previous Ninja Ranger teams.

19. Mack Hartfort’s Red Overdrive Ranger Simply Isn’t Memorable

Power Rangers: Overdrive

Mack Hartfort, the Red Overdrive Ranger, isn’t a standout due to problems with his Power Rangers season. Disney didn’t invest much money into the show, and the weak writing made everything feel hurried. While the character designs were appealing, they weren’t enough to make him stand out among other Rangers. However, the designs’ nostalgic quality helps keep him from ranking even lower.

18. The Ninja Storm Red Ranger is the Least Skilled 2000s-Era Red Ranger

Power Rangers: Ninja Storm

It’s notable that much of the criticism directed at the Red Ninja Storm Ranger focuses on the actor who played him, rather than the character itself. The actor struggled with substance abuse and had several arrests, which unfortunately overshadowed his work on the show. Although these issues arose years after filming wrapped, they’ve made producers hesitant to include the Red Ninja Storm Ranger in any future Power Rangers crossovers.

17. Dino Charge’s Red Ranger Manages the Rangers for Two Epic Seasons

Power Rangers: Dino Charge

Okay, let’s talk about the Red Ranger from Dino Charge. Honestly, he’s a bit of a letdown. We’ve seen so many dinosaur-themed Power Rangers at this point, and this one just doesn’t stand out. Tyler Navarro, the guy in the suit, feels underdeveloped – they really didn’t give him much of a backstory or personality. He’s strong and has some neat powers, sure, but beyond that, he’s just another strong guy fighting monsters. He’s a solid fighter, no doubt, but I wouldn’t exactly call him leadership material. It feels like a missed opportunity.

16. The Red Space Ranger Is a Member of the Veteran Red Rangers Team

Power Rangers in Space

Andros is a skilled fighter, but his determination to rescue his sister repeatedly puts his teammates at risk. He’s a prime example of how letting personal issues interfere with Ranger responsibilities can be problematic. Andros often prefers to work alone and can be difficult to collaborate with. While he shows improvement throughout the series, he doesn’t quite live up to his full potential as a Ranger.

15. Devon Daniel’s Red Grid Battleforce Ranger is a Modern Step in the Right Direction

Power Rangers: Beast Morphers

Devon Daniels, much like other Power Rangers, has a quick temper. He’s also very set in his ways, and these qualities make it hard for him to be a good leader. He struggles to work with his teammates and doesn’t easily trust others, which is a problem since he started as one of the team’s three leaders.

14. The Red Dino Thunder Ranger Learns From the Best Ranger of All Time

Power Rangers: Dino Thunder

Conner McKnight, the Red Dino Thunder Ranger, gets a rare chance to learn from what many consider the greatest Power Ranger ever. While he often leads the team, Conner steps back and follows the guidance of Tommy Oliver when Oliver is fighting alongside them, and together they’re usually successful. Oliver choosing to train Conner suggests he sees incredible potential in him – perhaps more than any other Red Ranger before.

13. Troy Burrows’ Red Megaforce Ranger Has Access to Several Classic Powers

Power Rangers: Megaforce

The Megaforce Rangers aren’t among the most well-loved Power Rangers teams, largely because their abilities seemed designed to sell toys and their characters didn’t have much development. Despite this, they possess a unique and significant power: they can tap into the abilities of all previous Rangers through the morphing grid. For example, Troy Burrow, the Red Megaforce Ranger, could access the powers of past Red Rangers whenever he faced a challenge.
