I just saw the new trailer for Capcom’s Pragmata, and it’s really starting to look good! It gave us a peek at the story, and the best news for me is that it’s confirmed to take advantage of the PS5 Pro. Everyone’s super hyped about Resident Evil Requiem right now, which is totally understandable, but Pragmata seems like it’s going to be a really cool sci-fi shooter, especially if you’re planning on getting a PS5 Pro.
Okay, so for anyone who doesn’t know, Pragmata is this action game I’ve been super hyped for. You play as Hugh, and you’re trying to get out of a research station on the moon. I’ll be running around with weapons and a jetpack to dodge enemies, and this AI character, Diana, rides on my back. She’s an android and basically hacks the enemy robots – these things called Bots – to either shut them down or make them easier to deal with. We haven’t known much about the story, but they just dropped a new trailer that gives us a little more of a clue about what to expect.
Pragmata PS5 Pro Support Confirmed
A new trailer for the game Pragmata was shown at February’s PlayStation State of Play, and it was confirmed the game will be enhanced for the upcoming PS5 Pro. While it’s unclear if any features will only be available on the PS5 Pro, players can probably expect improvements to either how smoothly the game runs, how it looks, or both. Those who played the Pragmata demo noticed it appeared better on the PS5 Pro than the regular PS5, leading to speculation about improvements in the full game. Testing of the demo confirmed the PS5 Pro is better at maintaining a stable 60 frames per second in Quality Mode. The new trailer itself was also recorded using the PS5 Pro, giving players a preview of the game’s potential graphics.
The trailer offered a few more hints about the story and what Hugh and Diana are up to. We learn Hugh was orphaned as a child but had a protector, and now he wants to be that for Diana. As they investigate the moon base and a city on the moon built by Luna Filament that looks a lot like New York, Diana points out she hasn’t seen anyone else, suggesting they might be the only survivors. Interestingly, Diana doesn’t seem to recognize a globe of Earth, which probably means she doesn’t know much about the world beyond where she’s been.
The trailer also showed off some of the enemies I’ll be up against as Hugh or Diana. Apparently, this New York-style area is controlled by something called IDUS, and it doesn’t like us being there. If we take too long – like, if we don’t clear things out fast enough – it sends in reinforcements. These are these huge, creepy robots built from something called Luna Filament. I was watching Hugh try to run, and one of them started chasing on all fours! Then its face split open and it started charging up some kind of laser weapon. Seriously unsettling stuff.
After a long wait since its 2020 announcement, the game Pragmata is almost here! The developers have overcome several delays, and the game is scheduled to launch on April 24, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. A demo is now available to play. Players who pre-order will receive special Samurai and Ninja-inspired outfits for the characters Hugh and Diana. The Deluxe Edition includes extra character skins, unique emotes for Diana, and digital artwork. The latest trailer also confirms that optional in-game purchases will be available, though details are still to come.
