Prime Video Casts Thor and Odin in God of War

Prime Video’s God of War series has added two new cast members: a breakout star from the show Severance, and a highly acclaimed veteran actor.

The upcoming Prime Video series based on ‘God of War’ has added two more actors to its cast. Mandy Patinkin, famous for his role as Inigo Montoya in ‘The Princess Bride,’ will play Odin, the powerful leader of the Norse gods and father of Thor and Heimdall. Max Parker was previously announced as Heimdall, and now it’s been revealed who will portray Thor in the series.

Thor Will Be Portrayed by a Severance Star in the Forthcoming God of War Series

Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, who played the tough Mr. Drummond in the Apple TV+ show Severance, is set to play Thor, according to Deadline. This new series will show Thor as a veteran Asgardian soldier and Odin’s former trusted advisor, now battling self-doubt and relying on alcohol to cope.

Interestingly, Ryan Hurst, who plays Kratos in the show, previously provided the voice for Thor in the God of War: Ragnarök video game. Additionally, Teresa Palmer will be portraying Thor’s wife, Sif, in the series.

Prime Video’s God of War is Already Renewed for Season 2

Okay, so this is wild! Amazon has already given the green light for a second season of the show, and they haven’t even released the first one yet! They’re planning to start working on it in February 2026. And get this – Frederick E.O. Toye, the guy who directed the Fallout TV show, is directing the first two episodes. That’s awesome, because Fallout looked amazing!

We don’t have a release date for the series yet. We’ll keep following the story and share any new information as soon as it becomes available.
