The Prime Video God of War series has secured yet another actor.
I’m so excited to hear Max Parker – you might recognize him from Emmerdale, Vampire Academy, or even Doctor Who – is joining the cast! Apparently, he’s going to play Heimdall, one of Odin’s kids. From what I’ve read, Heimdall’s basically Asgard’s watchman, able to see what’s coming before anyone else. But it sounds like he’s a bit of an outsider, feeling like Odin doesn’t really appreciate him and that his siblings underestimate him. It’s going to be a really interesting take on the character, I think!
Parker recently starred in the Netflix series Boots, where he played Sergeant Liam Robert Sullivan. His performance earned him a Visibility Award from the Human Rights Campaign for positively representing the LGBTQ+ community.
Ryan Hurst, known for his role in Sons of Anarchy, will star as the main character, Kratos, in the new series. Previously, it was announced that Teresa Palmer would play Sif, who is married to Thor.

Amazon has renewed the series for a second season, even before the first season has started filming. Production is scheduled to begin in February, and preparations are currently happening in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Ronald D. Moore, the creator of Apple TV+’s For All Mankind, will be the writer, showrunner, and producer of the new series. The first two episodes will be directed by Frederick E. O. Toye, who previously worked on the Fallout television adaptation.
