After several tantalizing hints about the revival of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Ubisoft has confirmed that the action-adventure game is coming back “soon.” Ever since its announcement in 2020, enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the remake, and it appears they may soon get a chance to play it.
Introduced back in 2003, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” remains one of those games that has managed to maintain its charm over time. The narrative revolves around a young prince who battles against corrupted entities and navigates hazardous landscapes, all while utilizing the enigmatic power of the Sands of Time, which essentially grants him the ability to manipulate time. While the plot was engaging, “The Sands of Time” truly shone due to its remarkable parkour mechanics, intriguing puzzles, and a distinctive feature allowing players to roll back time after a mistake—adding an extra dimension to gameplay.
According to PC Gamer, Ubisoft’s Chief Financial Officer, Frederick Duguet, hinted at potential future projects during a recent investors’ meeting. He suggested that Ubisoft might reinstate some well-known brand names with minimal investment. Among these, he specifically mentioned the upcoming remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, stating it would be released soon.
Ubisoft Says Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Is Coming ‘Very Soon’
Although it’s a small piece of news, each update about the remake of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” from Ubisoft excites players more. Lately, the game’s official Twitter account has reassured fans that the team working on the remake is dedicated and focused on making the gameplay flow smoothly. Previously, Ubisoft’s financial report in May suggested a release date for the “Sands of Time” remake, which is now slated for March 31, 2026.
There’s some ambiguity about whether the CFO’s remarks imply that the “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” will be released before March 31st; however, this statement does offer a glimmer of hope for enthusiastic gamers. It’s important to note that Duguet also hinted at the upcoming remake of “Splinter Cell,” but his comments on its release were a bit more vague, suggesting it will come out later. For now, fans should practice patience and wait for an official announcement.
