At the recent PlayStation State of Play broadcast, some thrilling updates were unveiled for PlayStation Plus members. Typically, such updates are revealed at only two distinct moments in each month – midway and towards its conclusion. However, Sony has been treating their subscribers to unexpected announcements as well.
The initial unexpected reveal about PlayStation Plus came during the ongoing Days of Play celebration. Games have been incorporated into the fundamental, expanded, and premium levels of the service, with Essential members receiving access to titles like Destiny 2: The Final Shape, and Extra and Premium subscribers gaining access to games such as Another Crab’s Treasure. More additions are on the way as part of the Days of Play PS Plus bonus games, making the service even more enticing for subscribers in the days ahead.
During the recent State of Play broadcast, it was announced that starting June 17, the PS2 title “Deux Ex: The Conspiracy” will become available for PlayStation Plus Premium members. Additionally, on July 15, PS Plus Premium users can anticipate playing both “Twisted Metal 3” and “Twisted Metal 4”. As for the summer season, the classic PS1 games “Resident Evil 2” and “Resident Evil 3” will be joining the lineup. Moreover, starting August 19, subscribers of both PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers can enjoy the day-one release of the game titled “Sword of the Sea”. Unlike these titles where movement is primarily on foot or with animals, in “Sword of the Sea“, players navigate the environment using a sword instead. This action-adventure/platformer game pays homage to classic skateboarding games like the “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” series, but replaces the skateboards with swords for travel. The visuals in “Sword of the Sea” are breathtakingly beautiful and promises to be a valuable addition to the PS Plus Extra library upon its release on August 19th.
Apart from “Sword of the Sea,” there are more exciting games coming to PlayStation Plus on June 17. This day also marks the addition of “Deus Ex: The Conspiracy” to the Premium tier.
