A game expected to be free for PlayStation Plus members in February 2026 has been revealed: it’s likely to be Undisputed, a title originally released in 2024. So far, that’s the only free game confirmed for February 2026 PlayStation Plus Essential, and it’s expected to be the main attraction.
PlayStation Plus hasn’t had the best start to the year. While the Extra and Premium tiers received some good new games this month, subscribers were largely disappointed with the free games offered in January 2026, especially considering how strong the December 2025 selection was. Last December’s lineup included popular titles like LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, and Neon White. January’s games – Need for Speed Unbound, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper – are all decent, but don’t quite measure up to the five games offered the previous month.
Undisputed Could Be PlayStation Plus Essential’s February 2026 Headliner
It appears the February 2026 PlayStation Plus Essential games may not be very exciting, at least according to early reports. Billbil-Kun, a reliable source who writes for Dealabs Magazine, stated on January 25th that the game Undisputed will likely be offered as a free PS Plus game next month. While Billbil-Kun’s information hasn’t been confirmed by official sources, it’s good to remember that leaks and rumors should always be viewed with skepticism.
Released in October 2024 and created by Steel City Interactive, Undisputed is a boxing game featuring licensed fighters from major organizations like the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Organization, and International Boxing Federation. The game boasts a roster of popular boxers including Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Terence Crawford, and Canelo Álvarez, and even includes real-world trainers and managers.
Since launching in 2024, the boxing game Undisputed has received a mixed response from critics. While it has an average score of 73 from top critics on OpenCritic, only 37% of critics actually recommend it. Reviewers liked the game’s realistic feel and its in-depth pre-match setup, which resembles an RPG. However, many criticized the commentators, technical issues, and a general lack of refinement. Overall, most reviewers felt Undisputed didn’t quite reach the same level as the popular Fight Night series.
Even though opinions on Undisputed have been varied, the game has maintained a steady player base. Alongside regular updates and bug fixes, seven paid downloadable content (DLC) packs have been released, primarily adding real-world, licensed boxers. The latest DLC, ‘The Senator Pack,’ came out in October 2025 and featured fighters like Manny Pacquiao, Vinny Paz, and Sergey Kovalev. A free update released simultaneously included new arenas, non-playable characters, a character creator for online use, and crossplay functionality.
We don’t yet know what the other free games for PlayStation Plus Essential in February 2026 will be. However, PlayStation will reveal the full February lineup on Wednesday, January 28th. Once announced, these games will be available to claim and play from February 3rd to March 3rd.
Although some players might enjoy Undisputed, it’s probably not popular enough to be a main free game for PlayStation Plus Essential. After a somewhat underwhelming beginning to 2026, subscribers were hoping February would offer better value, particularly since nine games are being removed from PS Plus Extra and Premium next month. Those nine games are:
