PS Plus Extra Game from 2025 is a 10/10 Must-Play

While Xbox Game Pass frequently offers new games on day one, PlayStation Plus doesn’t do so as often, making each day-one release a welcome surprise. These games are occasionally included with the monthly Essential tier offerings, but are more commonly found within the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus.

In 2025, PlayStation Plus Extra gained several exciting titles, including co-op games like Abiotic Factor and FBC: Firebreak, and the PlayStation exclusive Sword of the Sea, which features stunning visuals and a fantastic soundtrack. More recently, Skate Story launched directly onto the service and has been a highly praised addition. Overall, this has been a great year for day-one games on PS Plus Extra, highlighted by one truly exceptional, must-play title that earned a perfect score.

Blue Prince is One of the Best PS Plus Games Ever

The critically acclaimed puzzle game Blue Prince was added to the PS Plus Extra library on its launch day last April. Although it wasn’t nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, Blue Prince has the same excellent Metacritic score (92) as the winner, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Blue Prince is currently scheduled to remain on PS Plus Extra until next April, giving subscribers roughly five months to play it with their subscription.

In Blue Prince, a first-person roguelike puzzle game, you explore a large mansion one room at a time. What makes it unique is that you decide what each room will be, choosing from three different options, each with its own special challenge. Choosing wisely is key, because picking the wrong rooms can trap you and end your attempt. Some rooms even have drawbacks, like limiting how many steps you can take, forcing you to finish your run sooner than planned.

What makes Blue Prince special is that you can finish the main story in about 10 to 15 hours, but the game offers a lot more if you’re interested. It’s packed with complex puzzles and mysteries that you can explore at your own pace – or skip if you prefer. If you want to uncover every secret, be prepared for a much longer, 80 to 100 hour journey.

Having a high-quality game like Blue Prince included with PS Plus Extra and Premium is a major benefit for subscribers. It significantly increases the value of PS Plus Extra, and along with the other available games, makes the subscription worthwhile for many people. Blue Prince usually costs $29.99, but a month of PS Plus Extra is only $14.99, and you could likely finish the game within that month.
