Sony has announced the free games PlayStation Plus members will receive in October 2025. Usually, these games are revealed on the last Wednesday of the month, but only if the next day is the first of the following month. Since September 30th falls on a Tuesday this year, some players worried the announcement would be delayed until next week.
Rumors and worries were put to rest when Sony announced a new State of Play event for late September. Sony frequently uses these events to reveal updates about PlayStation Plus, and this one was no different. The recent State of Play showcased the free games subscribers can expect in October, and also gave a preview of some of the titles coming to the Extra and Premium tiers soon.
PlayStation Plus members can look forward to three free games in October 2025, revealed at the recent State of Play: Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and Cocoon. Alan Wake 2 is a highly praised, award-winning survival-horror experience from Remedy Entertainment. Goat Simulator 3 offers up chaotic and funny co-op gameplay, and Cocoon is a smart and well-received sci-fi puzzle game.

Sony announced the free PlayStation Plus games for October 2025 and also revealed a special bonus game for PS Plus Extra members this month. In addition to the games already added to PS Plus Extra, players with Extra or Premium subscriptions will get *The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered* on September 26th as part of Last of Us Day celebrations.
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers have at least three new games to look forward to in 2025: the classic fighting games *Tekken 3* and *Soulcalibur 3*, and *Tomb Raider Anniversary*. While we don’t have exact release dates yet, they might be included in the October lineup. We’ll find out the full October games for PS Plus Extra and Premium in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned! In the meantime, mark your calendars for October 7th, when *Alan Wake 2*, *Goat Simulator 3*, and *Cocoon* will be added to PS Plus Essential.
