As a dedicated PlayStation gamer, I’ve got some news for fellow enthusiasts. Remember those predictions I made about games leaving PS Plus in March 2025? Well, here’s an update on what might be departing from the service in April. Titles like Dave the Diver and Dead Island 2 could potentially be among them, so keep your eyes peeled!
Sony’s popular PS Plus subscription service is all about providing a vast library of games for both Extra and Premium subscribers. And with new additions being made each month, it’s no surprise that some titles may get the axe as well. After all, with growth comes change.
Since Sony revamped its PS Plus subscription service in 2022, it has aimed to rival Xbox Game Pass by frequently adding fresh titles to its library of games. While monthly updates are still provided to those on the Standard plan, subscribers of Extra and Premium tiers can enjoy a wide variety of games from the PS Plus collection anytime they wish. Although the number of day-one releases for PS Plus doesn’t match that of Xbox Game Pass, popular titles like “Dave the Diver, Animal Well, Stray“, among others, have been released simultaneously on console and PS Plus, making it a must-have for many PlayStation enthusiasts.
It appears that many popular games on PlayStation Plus are set to depart, with titles like “Resident Evil 3”, “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot”, and “Mortal Kombat 11” leaving the service in March 2025. And if Reddit user kayrakaanonline’s predictions hold true, several more critically acclaimed games, such as “Animal Well”, “Tales of Kenzera: Zau”, “Dave the Diver”, “Kena: Bridge of Spirits”, “DOOM”, “Wolfenstein: The New Order”, “Dead Island 2”, and “Grand Theft Auto 5”, may follow suit in April.
PS Plus Could Lose These Games in April
- Tales of Kenzera: Zau
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits
- Dave the Diver
- Animal Well
- Dead Island 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- DOOM
- Wolfenstein: The New Order
It’s important to mention that Sony hasn’t confirmed the games set to leave PS Plus in March 2025, but it’s likely that many of the titles mentioned by the user could be taken off the service’s game library. Games like Animal Well, Dave the Diver, and Tales of Kenzera: Zau were all included in PS Plus on their release day, and as noted by the user, most day-one releases are removed after a year. Additionally, games such as Kena: Bridge of Spritis, DOOM, and Wolfenstein: The New Order, which have been part of PS Plus for nearly two years now, might be taken off in April since that’s often the case with long-term offerings.
In November 2024, Grand Theft Auto 5 returned to PS Plus following its removal in June, but given that Rockstar Games’ popular title seems to cycle in and out every 6 months from the game catalog of PS Plus, it might be taken off the service soon. However, if past patterns are any indication, fans may anticipate Grand Theft Auto 5 to stay until May. Regrettably, as we are still a few weeks away from the end of February, fans will have to wait a little longer to verify whether these predictions hold true.
