If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber with access to the Extra or Premium tiers, it might be beneficial for you to focus on playing the seven games that will be removed from the service around mid-September. Keep in mind that PlayStation Plus periodically swaps out its collection of games on the same day it introduces new titles for Extra and Premium. Occasionally, Sony may surprise us with an unexpected update on different days too.
Just added to PS Plus Extra as a surprise treat is “The Rogue Prince of Persia,” making this month even more thrilling for the service! Before “The Rogue Prince of Persia” joined the roster, highly-rated game “Sword of the Sea” was introduced on day one. Meanwhile, premium members have been enjoying not only these two games but also classic “Resident Evil” titles from the PS1 era.
As a devoted PlayStation fan, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming updates! While details about the new games joining PS Plus Extra and Premium in September 2025 are still under wraps, we might just find out on September 10th. The official announcement is expected to drop then, with the updates coming a week later, on the 16th.
However, it’s not all good news. Some titles will be leaving our lineup starting September. Seven games, including Dragon’s Crown Pro, FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, Pistol Whip, Road 96, The Plucky Squire, and UFC 5 are set to bid farewell. So, mark your calendars to catch these games before they’re gone!
PS Plus Extra and Premium Games Leaving in September

- Dragon’s Crown Pro
- FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch
- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
- Pistol Whip
- Road 96
- The Plucky Squire
- UFC 5
Leifthrasir”.
Users subscribed to the most expensive tier of PlayStation Plus will soon have to bid farewell to Pistol Whip, as another virtual reality game departs from the service. Despite Sony’s expectations for the sales of PlayStation VR2 not being met, it’s unfortunate that those who invested in the hardware have been losing access to PS Plus VR games throughout this year. Let’s cross our fingers that the new games joining PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in September 2025 will compensate for the ones leaving.
