PlayStation Plus had a bit of an uneven start to 2026. The free games offered in January – Need for Speed Unbound, Core Keeper, and Epic Mickey: Rebrushed – weren’t as popular as the games from December 2025, like Neon White, LEGO Horizon Adventures, The Outlast Trials, and Killing Floor 3, according to some players. The Extra and Premium tiers had a slightly stronger lineup in January, but there’s still potential for even better games to be added next month.
Nine games will be removed from the PlayStation Plus library in February 2026, including well-known titles like Cult of the Lamb, The Ascent, and WWE 2K25. PlayStation Plus will need to offer some great free games next month to compensate for these losses and ensure a strong year.
PS Plus Free Games For February 2026 Wish List: Resident Evil 7
Read Game Rant’s Review of Resident Evil 7
A new main installment in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Requiem, is scheduled to release on February 27, 2026. The game takes place 30 years after Resident Evil 2 and 3, returning players to Raccoon City. You’ll be able to play as both Leon Kennedy, a familiar face, and a new character named Grace Ashcroft. Gameplay will differ depending on who you choose: Leon focuses on intense action and fighting zombies, while Grace emphasizes stealth and careful resource management. Resident Evil Requiem aims to blend the scary, survival-horror feel of Resident Evil 7 with the faster-paced action of Resident Evil 4.
With a new Resident Evil game on the horizon, it would be great if PlayStation Plus helped players get ready by offering a previous installment as a free monthly game. Resident Evil Village, the most recent main game, was just added to the PS Plus Extra tier, making Resident Evil 7 the ideal choice for February 2026’s PS Plus Essential lineup. Resident Evil 7 brought the series back to its scary, survival-horror origins and was directed by Koshi Nakanishi, who also directed Requiem. While it was previously available on PS Plus Extra in February 2023, it was removed after a year and hasn’t been offered since, making it a perfect fit for next month’s selection.
PlayStation previously said they’d stop including PS4 games in their monthly PS Plus freebies starting in June 2025. However, the January 2026 lineup showed that if a PS4 game also has a version for the PS5, it can still be offered. This means Resident Evil 7 remains a possibility for PS Plus, since it received a PS5 upgrade back in 2022.
- Enjoy the revitalization of classic Resident Evil survival horror gameplay.
- Get up close and personal with a colorful cast of terrifying adversaries, including the menacing Jack Baker.
- Experience the perfect jumping-on point for newcomers to the Resident Evil franchise, with no prior knowledge or experience needed to understand the story or gameplay.
PS Plus Free Games For February 2026 Wish List: Astro Bot

Winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024, Astro Bot is a standout exclusive title for the PlayStation 5. It’s a celebration of PlayStation’s 30+ years of gaming history! Players control the Astro Bot on a fun 3D platforming journey, exploring vibrant worlds and using clever gameplay. The main goal is to rescue 300 bots, many of whom are dressed as classic PlayStation characters. While PlayStation usually doesn’t offer its first-party games for free with PS Plus, adding Astro Bot to the February 2026 lineup would be a great way to excite players after a slow start to the year.

- Experience a handful of levels directly inspired by the gameplay of beloved PlayStation titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, Ape Escape, and God of War.

PS Plus Free Games For February 2026 Wish List: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Read Game Rant’s Review of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently very popular. After being available only on PlayStation for nearly six years, it’s now released on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch, and performs impressively on both platforms. Although PlayStation no longer has exclusive access to this popular Final Fantasy game, they are likely to announce another exclusive title soon.
The original Final Fantasy 7 Remake is now included with a PlayStation Plus Extra subscription, but its sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, isn’t currently available on the service. Adding Rebirth to the February free games lineup would be a major win for PlayStation Plus, and could keep subscribers happy for a long time.

- Enjoy a thrilling combat system that merges fast-paced hack-and-slash action with methodical turn-based tactics
- Explore a vast open world filled with expressive characters, engaging quests, lively locations, and breathtaking views
February 2026 Wish List For PS Plus Extra and Premium

- Nioh 2: The third entry in Team Ninja’s surprisingly great Soulslike series is set to release on February 6. Before then, PlayStation Plus should add Nioh 2 to its Extra/Premium library, letting newcomers catch up on the series ahead of the new release.
- The Witcher 3: It may have only left the service in August 2025, but many fans are already missing The Witcher 3 on PlayStation Plus. It’s been heavily rumored that The Witcher 3 will receive a new expansion in May 2026, so it’d be nice for PS Plus to allow fans to replay the modern RPG classic before its alleged release.
- LEGO Marvel Superheroes:LEGO games are prevalent on PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium, but one of the few that isn’t currently available on the service is LEGO Marvel Superheroes. This is a real shame, as LEGO Marvel Superheroes is widely considered to be one of the best LEGO games ever made, with its open world being shockingly fun to explore, and its story being a true celebration of the legendary comic universe.
- Resident Evil Code Veronica: According to leaker Dusk Golem, a Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake is set to be revealed by the end of 2026. PS Plus is in a prime position to make this potential announcement an even bigger deal than it already would be, as Code Veronica is a tricky game to get a hold of nowadays, especially if you’re trying to purchase a physical PS2 copy.
- Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: PlayStation Plus has a surprising number of Star Wars games currently in its Extra and Premium libraries. But there’s always room for more. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith may not be the most acclaimed Star Wars game, but it’s an incredibly nostalgic title for many fans, and it’d be great to see on PS Plus.
- Sea of Stars: While Sea of Stars actually came to PlayStation Plus upon its August 2023 launch, it left the service a year later and hasn’t returned since. That means there are plenty of PS Plus subscribers out there who wouldn’t have had the chance to play one of the most acclaimed RPGs in recent history.
