PS Plus New Games List (April 2026): Essential, Extra, Premium

In June 2022, Sony introduced a redesigned PlayStation Plus, merging it with the existing PS Now service. PS Now had been around for a while, but it struggled to overcome initial criticism, making a fresh start necessary. The new PlayStation Plus has proven to be much more popular and dependable.

PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) has three different membership levels: Essential, Extra, and Premium. The Essential tier gives you access to online gameplay and a couple of free games each month. The Extra tier includes everything from Essential, plus hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games to play. Premium takes it even further, adding games from older PlayStation consoles. Every month, Sony adds a variety of new games to each tier, including popular first-party exclusives, big-name titles from other developers, games for PS VR2, and well-loved indie games. The quality of the monthly games varies, but there are usually a few really great ones. What games have been added to PS Plus each month?

Free PS Plus Essential Games For April 2026

Lords of the Fallen (PS5), Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (PS5/PS4), Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream (PS5)

These games will be available between April 7 and May 4.

April 2026’s free PlayStation Plus games include three interesting titles: Lords of the Fallen, the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection, and SAO: Fractured Daydream. While these aren’t mainstream hits, they offer a good variety and should appeal to different types of players, each bringing a unique experience.

The latest game added to PS Plus, Lords of the Fallen, has improved significantly since its release last year. While ‘Souls-like’ games are now very common, LOTF initially had too many problems for most players to enjoy. However, the 2.0 update has fixed many issues, enhancing the combat, balance, performance, number of enemies, and cooperative play. While not flawless, the game is now enjoyable for any fan of action RPGs, even if you’re not already a Dark Souls enthusiast.

It’s great to see Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered included with PS Plus Essential. Lara Croft feels like a natural fit for Sony’s core subscription service, even if it’s only a temporary addition. These original games were incredibly innovative on the PlayStation 1, and the remaster offers just the right amount of polish for modern players in 2026. Both newcomers and longtime fans should definitely check out this collection.

Lastly, we have Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, which is probably the biggest surprise in this group. SAO games haven’t historically been very impressive, and they mostly appeal to those already familiar with the anime or books. Fractured Daydream doesn’t really break that trend, and it’s received mixed reviews compared to other SAO games like Fatal Bullet. If you’re a fan of SAO, it’s worth checking out. Otherwise, you might want to add it to your collection just for completion’s sake.

The PlayStation Plus Extra lineup for March 2026 is another strong addition to the year, offering a diverse range of games. The biggest highlight is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which is enjoyable even if you’re not familiar with the series. This long-awaited and generally well-received game successfully combines third-person shooting and fast-paced melee combat. While the game now focuses heavily on its multiplayer, new players should begin with the exciting, action-packed, and relatively brief single-player campaign.

Look, if you’re looking for a JRPG to completely consume your life for a good long while, Persona 5 Royal is it. The original Persona 5 has been around for ages, and I figured most people who were going to play it already had. But trust me, P5R is the version you need to play. The new stuff they added is so good, it’s totally worth starting the whole game over again just to experience it.

There are also some other excellent games worth checking out. Blasphemous 2 is a fantastic choice if you enjoy challenging action games like Soulslikes, or if you’re a fan of 2D adventure games like Metroidvania. Metal Eden is a surprisingly good and often overlooked first-person shooter, while Return to Moria is a standout title in the world of modern Lord of the Rings games. NFL 26* might not appeal to all players, but it’s still a major release.

PlayStation Plus Premium gives you access to all the benefits of the Essential and Extra tiers, plus a library of classic games from the PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP consoles, as well as some updated PS4 titles.
