As a long-time PlayStation enthusiast who has fond memories of countless hours spent playing TimeSplitters and other classic games, I am absolutely thrilled about the August 2024 PS Plus Premium lineup! The prospect of revisiting the TimeSplitters trilogy, especially with the co-op campaigns in TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect, is a dream come true.
Subscribers of the PlayStation Plus Premium service, due for release in August 2024, will receive five new games to enjoy. These include a set of popular first-person shooter games from the PS2 era, forming a trilogy. The main advantage of the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription is that it provides access not only to current PS4 and PS5 titles but also to a variety of retro games, enhancing the gaming experience.
In recent times, the offerings for PS Plus Premium members have expanded even further. Not only can they access classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games, but also Virtual Reality (VR) titles. A wonderful assortment of PlayStation VR2 games has already been incorporated into the PS Plus Premium collection, with another one scheduled for release as part of the August 2024 lineup.
For August 2024, the PS Plus Premium lineup includes five exciting games. On August 20th, subscribers can enjoy playing “Sword Art Online: Lost Song”, “TimeSplitters”, “TimeSplitters 2”, “TimeSplliters: Future Perfect”, and “Vacation Simulator”. Notably, “Vacation Simulator” is playable exclusively with PlayStation VR2. Additionally, “Sword Art Online: Lost Song” will be accessible as a streaming game, while the original “TimeSplitters” titles can be downloaded directly.

PlayStation VR2 users might be thrilled to experiment with “Vacation Simulator”, but it’s anticipated that the most sought-after new games for August 2024 on PlayStation Plus Premium will be the “TimeSplitters” trilogy. The “TimeSplitters” series is fondly recalled as some of the finest first-person shooter (FPS) games from their time, boasting excellent local multiplayer options in all three installments. Notably, “TimeSplitters 2” and “Future Perfect” include cooperative campaigns alongside their competitive modes, making them particularly enticing new additions to the PS Plus Premium library.
Co-op gamers will have a lot to look forward to on August 20. Those signed up for PS Plus Premium also get access to all of the games that are added through PS Plus Extra as well, which means subscribers can check out Cult of the Lamb on August 20 as well. Cult of the Lamb recently added co-op, and so between that and TimeSplitters, co-op gamers with PS Plus Premium should have no shortage of games to play on August 20.
For now, it’s still unclear if the TimeSplitters series will include trophy support or other improvements similar to those given to other revived classics in PlayStation Plus Premium. Therefore, fans are advised to stay tuned for further updates regarding this matter.
