The Extra and Premium tiers build on this with additional benefits like access to a rotating selection of games in the game catalogue, with new titles added regularly. The Premium tier also lets you stream a library of classic games, which is a particularly popular feature.

So, one of you guys actually reached out to PlayStation Support about the PS3 streaming problem, and it sounds like they know about it. They told the person who contacted them that it’s only affecting PS3 games in the Classics Catalog – everything else is working fine with the cloud streaming. But, like the subscriber pointed out, a lot of us are paying for this service specifically to play those PS3 games, and some of us even upgraded to Premium just for that! Thankfully, PlayStation is working on a fix, but they didn’t give any estimate of when it’ll be ready. And as of right now, they’re not offering any kind of refund or compensation for the trouble.

A PlayStation Plus Premium member found a temporary solution for a frustrating issue, though it doesn’t work for everyone. Reddit user Snoo36143 discovered that by using the PlayStation Plus PC app and a DualShock 4 controller, they could trick the system into recognizing recently played classic games. Here’s how it works: download the PC app, connect your controller via Bluetooth, launch the app, and find the game. Start the game, then connect the controller with a USB cable to create a save file. After that, going back to your PlayStation 5 should prioritize the game you played on PC, allowing you to start it normally. While a bit complicated, this workaround might be the only option available until PlayStation officially fixes the problem, as they haven’t announced any plans to do so yet.

The recent cloud streaming outage is frustrating, but PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers still have lots of other games to enjoy. Sony just added nine new titles to the game catalog this week, giving Extra and Premium members plenty of options. These include popular games like A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and Resident Evil Village – which is available right before the release of Resident Evil Requiem next month – along with several other exciting additions.
