PS5 Exclusive Dinosaur Game Code Violet Has Officially Gone Gold

Fans of the Dino Crisis series have been hoping for a new installment for years. While that hasn’t happened yet, the upcoming game Code Violet promises to deliver similar thrills with prehistoric creatures and intense action. Originally planned for November, Code Violet will now release in January 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5. Plus, updates to the Deluxe Edition are great news for anyone excited about this new sci-fi horror experience.

The first trailer for Code Violet showed a thrilling mix of action and dinosaur chases, reminiscent of classics like Dino Crisis and Jurassic Park. However, Code Violet offers a fresh, dark story about a disaster and dangerous biological experiments. The game is set in the 25th century and follows Violet Sinclair, who wakes up in the Aion Bioengineering Complex, now filled with prehistoric monsters. She must fight to survive against the dinosaurs while uncovering the truth about the horrifying experiments and Aion’s sinister plans. This unique concept quickly gained the attention of fans of Dino Crisis and sci-fi horror, and the developer has now announced the release date for Code Violet.

Code Violet Release Date and Deluxe Edition Update

  • January 10, 2026

TeamKill Media has announced that their game, Code Violet, is finished and will be released on January 10, 2026. Originally, they planned a Standard and Deluxe Edition, but they’ve decided to release only the Standard Edition to avoid further delays. This is good news for players! If you pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, you’ll automatically receive a full refund through the PlayStation Store and can then repurchase the Standard Edition at the original price. The best part? All the exclusive content that was planned for the Deluxe Edition – including the Tommy Gun weapon and special outfits for Violet – will now be available to everyone who buys Code Violet.

Like traditional survival horror games, Code Violet challenges players to carefully manage limited resources, making tough choices about which weapons, health packs, and tools to carry. The game uses a modern over-the-shoulder camera, putting you right in the action whether you’re fighting up close or taking on dinosaurs from a distance within the Aion Complex. Code Violet is built for the PS5, featuring stunning ray-traced graphics, immersive 3D audio, and even haptic feedback through the DualSense controller, creating a truly terrifying and immersive sci-fi dinosaur survival experience.

I’m still hoping for a new Dino Crisis game, but Capcom hasn’t said anything official about a revival yet. Until then, Code Violet looks like a great way to get that dino-horror fix! There are a lot of awesome horror games coming out, like Resident Evil Requiem and the Silent Hill remake, which is exciting. It doesn’t look like Dino Crisis will be joining them soon, but I’m really looking forward to Jurassic Park Survival. It’s a first-person horror game set in the Jurassic Park universe, and it’s going to bring back those terrifying dinosaur vibes from the 90s – which I totally need!

Even with a lot of strong survival horror games already available, Code Violet looks like it will stand out. It has a fascinating story that combines futuristic bioengineering with classic, primal predators, promising a memorable experience. The game builds on what fans love about sci-fi horror while also offering a fresh perspective, so excitement is building. Code Violet will be available January 10th exclusively on PlayStation 5, and fans can stay tuned for updates on other upcoming horror games planned for 2026 and beyond.
