PlayStation 5 players have eight exciting new games coming in April 2026. So far in 2026, the PS5 has benefited from a strong lineup of games from various developers. February brought Resident Evil Requiem, the highest-rated PS5 game released so far this year, and there have been many other games available from different platforms as well.
I’ve been following the PlayStation exclusives, and while MLB The Show 26 just came out on PS5, it doesn’t seem to be getting the same amazing reviews as past games. But things are looking up! There’s a massive PlayStation game planned for release in April 2026, and I’m already super excited about it.
Launching exclusively on PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2026, Saros is shaping up to be a major new game. It’s the next project from Housemarque, the team behind the popular Returnal. Saros appears to build on Returnal‘s fast-paced, challenging combat, blending it with a stunning science fiction setting and a compelling story. Everything revealed so far looks fantastic, and I’m really excited to play it when it comes out next April.
Upcoming PS5 Games for April 2026
- Darwin’s Paradox – April 2
- Starfield – April 7
- Mouse: P.I. for Hire – April 16
- Pragmata – April 17
- Tides of Tomorrow – April 22
- Neverness to Everness – April 29
- Invincible VS – April 30
- Saros – April 30
Although Saros is currently the most talked-about upcoming PS5 game for April 2026, it’s not the only new release. Konami will kick off the month on April 2nd with Darwin’s Paradox, a unique side-scrolling platformer where you play as an octopus. Early trailers suggest the game has a fun and quirky style, making it look like a great experience for fans of the platforming genre.
I’m so excited! As a PlayStation fan, I’ve been waiting ages, but we finally get to play Starfield on April 7th! It’s made by Bethesda, the creators of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, so you can expect a huge, open-world sci-fi experience with that same awesome gameplay. And it’s not just the base game – they’re launching a massive update called Free Lanes alongside it, adding tons of new stuff. Plus, there’s a paid expansion, Terran Armada, coming out on the same day! For years, Starfield has only been available on Xbox, but it looks like us PS5 players are getting a really great version, with all the updates and extras right from the start.
Okay, so here’s the deal with some upcoming PS5 games. I was really looking forward to Mouse: P.I. for Hire, this cool first-person shooter with a really unique, almost cartoonish look. It was supposed to come out way back in March 2026, but it got pushed back to April 16th. Hopefully, the extra time meant they really polished it! But on the flip side, I’m getting Pragmata a little earlier than expected. Capcom decided to move up the release date to April 17th, which is awesome – I’m excited to finally see if this new sci-fi shooter lives up to the hype!
PS5 players will be able to try out Tides of Tomorrow, a new game from THQ Nordic, starting April 22nd. This game lets you explore an ocean planet where you can see the traces of other players’ actions. What one player does can actually affect the experience for others, changing how characters react and making the game more or less challenging for everyone. It’s a unique concept, and it will be exciting to see how well it works.
A new expansion for Diablo 4, called Lord of Hatred, will be available in April, launching on April 28th.
While games like Tides of Tomorrow all require purchase, a major free-to-play game is coming to PS5 in April. Neverness to Everness is an open-world action role-playing game with a gacha mechanic, and many compare it to an anime-style Grand Theft Auto. It’s yet to be seen if it will live up to those comparisons, but PS5 players can download and try it for free starting April 29th.
Lastly, there’s Invincible VS, a fighting game based on the popular Prime TV show and comic book by Robert Kirkman. The fourth season of the show is finishing up just a week before the game comes out, and Invincible VS lets you battle it out with characters from the series.
