Plus, it adds new emojis for messages and introduces a new Showcase Mode in the Welcome Hub, letting users display a full background image when the console isn’t being used.

Recently, some beta testers have started receiving an update that redesigns the console’s home screen, even though PlayStation didn’t announce it beforehand. According to a Reddit user participating in the beta program, the update, received on April 6th, simplifies the main home screen by dedicating it solely to games and the Welcome Hub. Other features like the PlayStation Store and PS Plus have been moved to a smaller section accessible using the L1 and R1 buttons.

A Bloomberg report by Jason Schreier indicated Sony is moving away from porting its exclusive games to PC, particularly single-player titles like the highly anticipated Saros and Marvel’s Wolverine, which are expected to be major PS5 exclusives this year. While PlayStation hasn’t officially confirmed this shift, Schreier believes previous PC releases weren’t profitable enough to justify continued effort.
