As a budget-conscious tech enthusiast who has been eagerly waiting for a high-quality VR headset without breaking the bank, I’m thrilled to hear that the price of the headset has dropped from $549.99 to $349.99. This significant discount brings it within reach of my savings, making me feel relieved and excited at the same time. Furthermore, knowing that this price is even lower than the starting cost of the more popular Meta Quest 3, which retails for around $449.99 depending on the store, gives me a sense of satisfaction that I’m getting a great deal. Overall, this experience reinforces my belief in the importance of being patient and waiting for the right opportunity to make a purchase.
It appears that the sale is timed with the upcoming Steam release of the PSVR 2 application for the underperforming VR headset, aiming to boost its sales. This new app enables users to enjoy it on both their PlayStation 5 and personal computers.
An additional requirement is the $60 adapter for using the app with the device. This expense is less than the cost of purchasing a PS5 console, which no longer supports VR functionality as per Sony’s recent announcement due to low player adoption.
