PUBG: Battlegrounds Releases Update 32.1

PUBG: Battlegrounds Releases Update 32.1

Key Takeaways

  • PUBG: Battlegrounds introduces region merge to improve the matchmaking experience.
  • Update 32.1 brings significant changes to weapons, attachments, and gameplay.
  • Changes to the Recall system, Arcade mode, and more are included in the update.

As a seasoned Battle Royale enthusiast with countless hours spent looting, shooting, and surviving under the harsh skies of PUBG, I’m thrilled to see the latest patch notes! It seems like the developers have been working tirelessly to address various issues, from weapon functionality to UI improvements.

Krafton has recently rolled out a new update for PUBG: Battlegrounds. This update not only enhances the matchmaking process by merging regions, but also brings substantial changes to the game’s overall dynamics, often referred to as its meta. The region merge, which was met with some controversy since it was first announced, aims to consolidate several regional servers within PUBG: Battlegrounds. This move may have been a source of frustration for players due to ping issues, but the developers appear to be proceeding with this decision nonetheless.

Despite not maintaining the peak popularity it initially held upon release, PUBG: Battlegrounds has seen a consistent increase in its player numbers over the last few months. The creators have been consistently rolling out new updates to keep players hooked. For example, the Clan System underwent substantial modifications with Update 31.1 for PUBG: Battlegrounds. Now, another significant update has been unveiled for this battle royale game.

In their latest blog update, Krafton has disclosed the anticipated features of Update 32.1 for PUBG: Battlegrounds. One significant change in this update is the server consolidation, also known as region merge. This means that servers from regions such as North and South America on PC have been combined into a single group. Similarly, Oceania and South East Asia are now merged together. While this adjustment may limit the ability of players to switch servers within PUBG: Battlegrounds, Krafton previously stated that the change was made with the aim of enhancing the skill-based matchmaking experience.

Besides the main modification, the update also brings several adjustments to weapons and accessories. The Muzzle Brake, considered the strongest attachment in PUBG: Battlegrounds, has finally been toned down following its long-anticipated nerf. The reduction in both horizontal and vertical recoil, as well as camera shake control, is substantial. It’s uncertain if it will remain effective post-nerf given its current dominance in the game’s meta. Additionally, the MG3 and DBS have been boosted, while the P90 and Mk14 have experienced a decrease in power. Lastly, FAMAS users can look forward to increased customization options with the update, as the QuickDraw Mag, Extended Mag, and Ext.QuickDraw Mag are now compatible with it.

The Recall system undergoes a significant upgrade, resulting in flights becoming visible every 150 seconds (2.5 minutes), instead of once per phase. This minor increase in flight frequency boosts the overall number of flights. However, after phase 7, no more flights will appear. In addition to this change, an innovative arcade mode named Hungers Left Behind is being added to the game. The theme of this mode aligns with Survivors Left Behind, but it promises a significantly higher level of difficulty. As modes like PUBG: Battlegrounds’ Fantasy Battle Royale have garnered popularity in the past, players are eagerly anticipating what Hungers Left Behind has to offer. Other than these updates, numerous bug fixes and enhancements for player experience are also being implemented in the game.

Ranked

Season 32

  • The method for calculating RP for premade teams is shifting from a team average to a weighted average.
    • Previously, matchmaking was based on the team average RP, but starting in Season 32, it will be based on a weighted average. If you have a teammate with a high RP in your premade team, the RP pool you’ll be matched into will be higher, resulting in a more challenging gameplay experience.
  • Kills will carry more weight than assists in the RP calculation.
    • We aim for this change to match players with similar killing abilities within the same tier and division.
  • The minimum performance expectations for each tier are being updated.
    • Gold and higher tiers will now have increased minimum performance expectations to better reflect the skill differences at higher levels. However, we’re slightly lowering the minimum performance expectations for Master tier players to alleviate the pressure.
  • Ranked weapon skins for the P90 have been added as Tier Rewards (permanent) for Season 32.
  • The leaderboard will reset after the live server maintenance.
  • Check out your final Tier from the previous season through your Career page.
