As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of ups and downs in the gaming world. The latest update from Ubisoft regarding their ongoing battle against cheats and toxicity in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is nothing short of heartening. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the Siege community, with the ninth year bringing about an intensification of these issues, but it seems like Ubisoft has finally turned the tide.

Ubisoft has provided an encouraging update on their continuous work to suppress cheating and harmful behavior within the game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which they noted saw a significant increase during its ninth year.

In February, Ubisoft pledged to strengthen the security measures for the player community of their hit tactical shooter game, Rainbow Six Siege. At that time, they emphasized stricter ban enforcement and technologies such as MouseTrap, a console-specific tool designed to detect mouse and keyboard use. Recently, Ubisoft has released an update on how their anti-cheat and anti-toxicity systems in Rainbow Six Siege have been functioning.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the gaming experience since the launch of Rainbow Six Siege’s latest season, Y9S3, back in September. In their recent Player Protection Update, Ubisoft mentioned that cheating has significantly decreased following this update. For almost a week after the season began, there were hardly any reports of cheaters, and the number of cheater reports dropped dramatically during this period.

At present, Ubisoft is striving to finalize tests for devices that the system hasn’t identified yet, which they refer to as MouseTrap tests. Simultaneously, they are focusing on introducing PC and console crossplay in Rainbow Six Siege during the upcoming season, along with the incorporation of MouseTrap within this feature. Additionally, a fresh iteration of their proprietary QB System, a tech aimed at hindering cheat creation, is being tested by the development team.

In the upcoming update Y9S4 of Rainbow Six Siege, slated for release around December, a revised reputation system is planned, along with automated text chat monitoring. The new reputation system will consider various factors such as player ratings, reports, penalties, and communications, aiming to provide a more comprehensive evaluation.

The latest Player Protection Update for Rainbow Six Siege has been released, following the Y9S3.3 patch that went live on October 22nd. This recent update made modifications to Iana, Jackal, Kali, Mozzie, Zero, and Zofia, as well as adjusting bullet properties for Kali’s CSRX-300. It also addressed a number of bugs, including one affecting Skopos, the game’s most recent operator. Unlike previous seasons, the next chapter of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will not introduce a new operator, but instead, it will revamp one of the American characters.
