The upcoming significant update for Rainbow Six Siege, titled Operation Twin Shells, will be released worldwide on August 30.
At the pinnacle of the update list, we find Skopos – an innovative Operator featuring a distinct characteristic. Due to a disability, she doesn’t physically join the battlefield, but instead commands two robotic characters, each with a specific role in combat. One is agile and can be managed much like a typical Operator, while the other adopts a defensive stance and focuses on surveillance duties.
Users are bound to get thrilled as Ubisoft plans to implement various anti-cheat and anti-toxicity mechanisms with the rollout of Operation Twin Shells. This comprises simultaneous detection systems, fortification of the game’s code using binary hardening, and a quicker ‘Ban Time’ metric for prompt action.
Regarding safety measures against toxicity, Ubisoft is planning a revamp of their Reputation system and improving their reporting tools and mechanisms for moderation.
Additionally, modifications are being applied not just to new features, but also to existing aspects within the game. For example, Solis, Dokkaebi, and NOKK have been adjusted to rectify some issues related to their being too strong – or too weak. Ubisoft has introduced an updated Versus AI mode, launched ‘After Action 2.0’, and developed a tournament-like event named Siege Cup.
The Siege Cup gaming platform is currently in its testing phase and caters exclusively to PC gamers at this moment. However, it provides a robust framework for teams to challenge any opponents they encounter. Victors of the Siege Cup will receive a unique currency that can be obtained solely through competitive playlists. This new currency will then be utilized to acquire exclusive packs and performance-enhancing boosters.
