Rainbow Six Siege X Surprise-Launches Closed Beta

Summary

  • Rainbow Six Siege X closed beta is now available.
  • Participating in the ongoing test requires watching around 30 minutes’ worth of Rainbow Six Siege content on Twitch.
  • The beta is available until March 19, whereas Rainbow Six Siege X is scheduled for a June 10 release.

Ubisoft unexpectedly started a closed beta testing for the upcoming version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, called Rainbow Six Siege X. This short-term test lets players get a sneak peek at one of the major new features in the next edition of Rainbow Six Siege, but you need to go through some steps to sign up for the beta.

In December 2025, it will be ten years since Ubisoft Montreal’s popular tactical shooter game, Rainbow Six Siege, was released. The developer has been hinting at a significant change for the game since the beginning of this year. This substantial change, which they have been referring to as a major evolution, was officially unveiled on Thursday, March 13, under the name Rainbow Six Siege X.

Ubisoft’s announcement was paired with the commencement of the Rainbow Six Siege X closed testing phase, which is now playable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The upcoming update will also be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna; however, last-generation consoles won’t receive the Dual Front mode, a 6v6 gameplay mode for Rainbow Six Siege X, that was previously leaked. This new addition to the game is described as permanent and continually evolving, with Dual Front being the main attraction of the recently launched closed beta. The mode requires players to capture three enemy sectors while defending their own zones on a fresh map titled District.

Rainbow Six Siege X Beta Is Only Available Via Twitch Drops

As a gamer, diving into the beta for Rainbow Six Siege X is a breeze! To get started, I’d recommend catching up on the game’s latest showcase – you can find it streaming live on the official Twitch channel or via one of the many partnered Rainbow Six Siege streamers. According to fellow gamers who’ve already given it a spin, just watching around half an hour of Rainbow Six Siege X footage could score me an invite for the closed beta!

Twitch will keep me posted once I qualify for the drop, and when that happens, all I need to do is hop onto my Inventory page to redeem my invite. Once redeemed, I’ll receive an email with the beta code and instructions tailored to my platform, making it a piece of cake to get started!

How To Play Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta (Mar 13 – 19, 2025)

  1. Link your Twitch and Ubisoft Connect accounts.
  2. Watch ~30 minutes’ worth of participating Rainbow Six Siege content via Twitch.
  3. After receiving a Twitch notification about qualifying for the beta invite, redeem it from your Inventory page.
  4. Check your email for a closed beta code and further instructions on how to redeem it.

Owning Rainbow Six Siege is not a requirement for participating in the R6 Siege X closed beta.

During this ongoing trial phase, you’ll have access to 35 operators for Rainbow Six Siege X. You don’t need to own the game to join, as it’s set to transition into a free-to-play model with its upcoming update. However, keep in mind that the Ranked and Siege Cup competitive modes within Rainbow Six Siege X will still require payment.

As a thrilled gamer, I’m excited to share that we’ve got a week-long closed beta starting right now! It wraps up on March 19. Mark your calendars because Rainbow Six Siege X is slated for an international launch on June 10. There’s even a possibility that Ubisoft might roll out an open beta this spring, but they haven’t made it official yet. Keep those fingers crossed!
