Among players, Elden Ring, developed by From Software, is currently one of the most played games; however, few have dedicated as much time as Randy Orton to exploring its vast universe.
It’s no surprise that Randy Orton, an avid Elden Ring enthusiast, has caught the attention of gaming aficionados who keep tabs on his activities. As early as 2022, it was disclosed that Randy Orton was a player of Elden Ring. At that time, the wrestler/gamer shared that he had advanced to Level 527 in the game. However, it was later unveiled that he spent $1,000 to be boosted to Level 100. Despite this, his deep-seated admiration for the expansive role-playing game has never waned.
Currently, wrestler Randy Orton shared during a conversation with WWE champion Cody Rhodes in the “What Do You Wanna Talk About” video series that he’s invested more than 600 hours into the game Elden Ring. In their discussion (approximately at the 20-minute mark), Orton disclosed his longstanding affection for the game, and with his recent spinal fusion surgery allowing him extra time, he was able to dedicate such a significant amount of hours to Elden Ring. Since its release, he’s also been engrossed in the new DLC called Shadow of the Erdtree. To give you an idea of how much time Orton has committed to the game, a completionist’s approach to completing Elden Ring and its DLC takes roughly 180 hours, according to How Long to Beat.

It’s no wonder Randy Orton adores Elden Ring; it’s From Software’s most successful game yet. In fact, in 2023, the creators themselves were taken aback by the game’s popularity and attributed it to the vast amount of player freedom it provides. They weren’t entirely sure why so many people were captivated by Elden Ring, but they speculated that this was likely the reason.
As a longtime fan of FromSoftware games, I can confidently say that Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, is following a similar path to success. In my opinion, its rapid sales of five million copies in just three days and its status as one of the highest-rated DLCs of all time are clear indicators of the enduring appeal of massive open-world games like this one. It’s no surprise that so many people, myself included, continue to be drawn into FromSoftware’s immersive worlds.
