Raven Software Union Files Complaint Against Microsoft And Activision

As a dedicated gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of industry drama. The latest news about the developers union at Raven Software filing a complaint against Microsoft and Activision Blizzard is certainly causing a stir in the gaming community.

The workers’ union representing game developers at Raven Software, the Call of Duty studio, has lodged a grievance with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) against both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

According to Stephen Totilo’s GameFile newsletter, the labor union at Raven Software has accused its parent companies of acting unfairly during negotiations and engaging in “joint activities” like retaliation and punishment. Additionally, they claim that changes have been made to the work conditions without obtaining the union’s consent.

Following Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard, our union members had high hopes for a swift first contract at Raven Software, as expressed by CWA president Claude Cummings Jr. in an interview with GameFile. Regrettably, this has not materialized. We urge Microsoft to tackle the issues highlighted in the Unfair Labor Practice complaint and consider reaching a fair agreement as a top priority.

Neither Microsoft nor Activision Blizzard have provided a response to TopMob’s request for comment. However, Microsoft has informed Totilo that they are “dedicated to engaging in open and honest negotiations.”

As a gamer, I’ve submitted a petition to take a closer look at the entire complaint against us. If my request is honored, I’ll share the details with everyone.
