Razer has been consistently releasing popular products, starting with the highly praised Wolverine V3 Pro controller. Many consider the Wolverine V3 Pro to be one of the best controllers available, thanks to its comfortable design, extensive customization options, compact build, responsive buttons, and long-lasting battery. However, it was designed with an Xbox button layout, which meant PlayStation users had to either adjust or wait for a PlayStation-compatible version. Now, Razer has answered their calls with the new Raiju V3 Pro.
The Razer Raiju V3 Pro keeps the comfortable design of the popular Wolverine controller, which is a good choice. I’ve always liked how the Wolverine V3 Pro and the 8K for PC feel in your hands – they’re excellent controllers right away. If you mainly play on Xbox and don’t need it for PC gaming, the Wolverine V3 Pro is a great option. But if you do want to use it on PC, the 8K for PC offers faster performance, even when connected wirelessly. It does remove the haptic feedback to make the controller lighter, so that’s something to consider. Both are excellent, but the Razer Raiju V3 Pro is likely to become the preferred choice for many players.
Razer Raiju V3 Pro Comes With An Incredible PlayStation-Style Layout
The biggest advantage of the Razer Raiju V3 Pro controller is its PlayStation-style button layout. Previous versions of the Raiju had a less common, asymmetrical joystick setup, but the V3 Pro now features symmetrical joysticks. While everyone has their own preference, I personally find symmetrical sticks more accurate and comfortable to use.

Most third-party controllers use joysticks that aren’t symmetrical, and I know that’s what most people prefer. So, when I see a controller with symmetrical joysticks, it definitely catches my attention. Plus, I already really liked everything else Razer included in their V3 Pro line, which makes this even better.
The biggest differences between the Raiju V3 Pro and the Wolverine controllers are features designed with PlayStation in mind. Like the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro for PC, the Raiju V3 Pro has improved joysticks to help prevent stick drift. It also includes textured buttons for the action commands (triangle, circle, square, and cross), a touch pad, customizable triggers, four back paddles, and two extra buttons for a claw grip. I especially like the back paddles because they let you perform actions like jumping or reloading without lifting your thumbs off the joysticks, and the Raiju V3 Pro’s paddles are excellent. What’s really great is that you can change what the back paddles and claw grip buttons do directly on the controller, without needing to use any software. This makes it easy to quickly adjust the controls for any game and get right back to playing.
Whether or not you use a claw grip, the extra buttons on the Raiju V3 Pro controller are conveniently placed and offer two additional customizable options.
Razer’s Synapse software lets you create and easily switch between different profiles with a button press. The software itself is user-friendly, letting you customize things like joystick sensitivity. But what I really like is being able to quickly change settings while I’m playing a game. For example, with the Razer Raiju V3 Pro, it’s simple to switch from having a back button set to dodge in a fast-paced game like Hades 2 to setting it to jump for a platformer.

Razer Raiju V3 Pro Key Features
- Symmetrical TMR joysticks
- Mecha-tactile PBT face buttons
- 8-way floating D-Pad
- 4 Removable Back Paddles
- 2 Claw Grip Buttons
- Razer Pro Hypertriggers
- Razer HyperSpeed Wireless via USB-A dongle
The Razer Raiju V3 Pro improves on previous versions by letting you remove its four back paddles if you prefer. If you don’t like how back buttons feel or worry about hitting them by mistake, you can easily take them off using the included tool and replace them with smooth covers. This is a great feature for anyone who doesn’t find back buttons useful and wants a cleaner controller.
Lack of haptics in the Razer Raiju V3 Pro can be a disappointment for some users.
The biggest downside to the Razer Raiju V3 Pro is the lack of haptic feedback. Considering how immersive haptics are in PlayStation 5 games, this is a bit of a letdown, though not everyone will notice. Another issue is that using the controller on a PC with PS5 games can be unreliable – some games don’t work with the controller’s layout or require extra software. If you’re only going to use it on a PlayStation 5, this isn’t a major concern. However, in that case, the DualSense Edge controller is probably a better choice.
Aside from a few minor issues, the Razer Raiju V3 Pro is an excellent controller and has quickly become one of my top picks for PC gaming. If you prefer a traditional controller layout, you’ll likely love this one. I especially appreciate how easily it can be customized, the comfortable grips, the satisfying feel of the buttons, and its overall size. Razer has now perfected the V3 Pro line, and for many gamers, the Raiju V3 Pro will become their go-to controller.
The Razer Raiju V3 Pro isn’t available in the US yet. Razer is waiting for official approval before it can be released.
The Razer Raiju V3 Pro will be available for $219.99. We received a review unit from Game Rant.
