In Episode 3 of Reacher Season 3, titled “Number 2 with a Bullet,” kicks off with Reacher and Duke engaging in a chat about the informant. Upon returning home, Reacher helps himself to a bowl and finishes dinner. However, their discussion is interrupted by Duke, as Beck wants to speak with Reacher. Beck discloses that the truck which collided with Richard’s car belonged to individuals he had previously dealt with. Furthermore, they haven’t found anyone fitting the description of the truck driver that Reacher provided, leading Beck to suspect either the truck was stolen or Reacher might have been less than truthful about the driver’s identity.

As Reacher talks to Beck, he hints that the kidnapping of Richard was a careless action by the individuals he had dealt with before, intended as a warning to the proprietor of Bizarre Bazaar. In doing so, Reacher sows seeds of uncertainty in Beck’s mind and proceeds to share his belief that these people will attack again, seeking more information from Beck about their business dealings.

Reacher tries becoming Beck’s right-hand man

Instead, Beck remains silent and instructs him to focus on his duties as his son’s protector. Meanwhile, Neagley discovers crucial details for Reacher, uncovering that Paulie, Duke, and the informant had a history in law enforcement. On a different note, viewers learn a shocking truth about Francis Quinn – it turns out he was thought to be dead by Reacher, but surprisingly, he lived and returned.

In a new development, Reacher is revising his strategy since Beck suspects him of deceit. Consequently, he approaches Susan Duffy to discuss alterations in their plans. When Duffy enquires about Francis Quinn’s role and the significance of this character to the ex-Army major, Reacher discloses a heinous act committed against one of his comrades, Sergeant First Class Dominique Kohl. However, he leaves out further details as they approach the Bizarre Bazaar warehouse to meet Angel Doll.

To Duffy’s astonishment, the individual Reacher had killed was known as Angel Doll. They proceeded with their investigation, scouring the warehouse for any hints about Teresa Daniels. Regrettably, they found nothing concerning her, but they did discover a large crate to store Angel Doll’s remains. They returned to the office area of the warehouse and attempted to clean up the bloodstains. However, two people working with Beck arrived, noticed the blood on the floor, causing Reacher and Duffy to defend themselves and subdue them. Following this, Reacher returned to Beck’s house and rested.

Richard tells scintillating truth about his father and who’s controlling the business

In the morning, he wakes up to find Beck in an upset state as the drivers supposed to deliver the cargo hadn’t arrived. It quickly becomes clear that the two individuals Reacher had killed during the night were these very same drivers who were entrusted with the delivery task. Reacher offers to help out but Zachary insists he looks after his son and takes him to the city instead, as he wants to go shopping.

Whilst out shopping, Reacher discovers Richard intends to purchase a unique gift for his birthday father. Simultaneously, Reacher becomes aware of Beck’s overlord, Julius McCabe, during his undercover work. He contacts Duffy, informing her that Beck is merely a pawn, requesting she investigate McCabe. Moreover, he asks Duffy to locate Angel Doll’s laptop to unravel details about the upcoming delivery. Meanwhile, during this shopping excursion, Reacher shields Richard from thugs, leading Richard to trust Reacher implicitly. Richard reveals that McCabe controls everything, including their lives, and keeps them in this location so McCabe can monitor both Richard and his father.

Furthermore, it was McCabe who first attempted to abduct Richard and mutilate his ear. As a result, Richard informs Reacher that his father originally dealt in rugs, but when McCabe entered the picture, he took control of the entire operation and grew so powerful that he surpassed the system itself. In contrast, Duffy has managed to capture a photo of McCabe, and his identity could come as a surprise to everyone.

Has Reacher finally become Beck’s #2?

Reacher, accompanied by Beck and Richard, arrives at Beck’s residence. They discover that the individuals who attempted to abduct Richard were hiding in a nearby house. Consequently, they all head towards this house to neutralize the danger. Upon arriving at the location, Reacher collaborates with Duke on a strategy for entering the house first. However, Duke insists on going ahead, and Reacher doesn’t argue. They enter the house and begin their search for the assailants. As they move forward, Reacher aims his gun at Duke’s head and demands to know the whereabouts of Teresa. Despite his belief that Reacher wouldn’t go through with it, Duke remains silent. True to form, Reacher pulls the trigger.

In this scenario, Reacher shoots Duke at close range and later, in an attempt to deceive Beck, fires multiple shots suggesting a fight between them and the villains. Wounding himself, he then detonates the house, emerging afterward to inform Beck that Duke is dead. He presents Beck with a weapon, revealing it as Angel Doll’s since Reacher had received it from him earlier. The story concludes with Beck designating Reacher as the new head of security.

In the third installment of Reacher Season 3, things look intriguing as our ex-military protagonist successfully penetrates Beck’s inner circle. I can’t wait to see what twists and turns lie ahead for Reacher as he carries on with his mission.
