The third season of Reacher resumes in its second episode, picking up right where the first left off. Reacher’s phone chat with Duffy persists, as he hints that their informant could still be alive. Following the call, Reacher heads to his room. Meanwhile, Duke, the security chief at Reacher’s residence, is overheard in conversation and moves towards Reacher’s room. In a surprising turn of events, Reacher scales the entire house from outside to gain entry.

When there’s no response after multiple knocks on his door, Beck’s head of security forcefully enters, noticing the window ajar. At first, he assumes Reacher has fled, but quickly spots him exiting the bathroom. This series of events keeps viewers tense and lets out a collective sigh when the ex-marine emerges from the bathroom. Eventually, Reacher is given a mission: he must join one of Beck’s associates to search for the truck that damaged Richard’s vehicle at the location where the police impound all vehicles.

If Beck learns that the car is immaculate and there’s no trace of blood, he’ll grow wary of Reacher, potentially putting the whole plan at risk. He hangs up and gets into the car with one of Beck’s associates. During their conversation, Reacher discerns that Beck isn’t the one calling the shots; someone else is pulling the strings in this criminal operation. The undercover agent does all he can to stall. Despite Duffy and her colleague showing up ahead of schedule, it proves challenging for her to get the car out of the compound. Regrettably, Reacher and Beck’s informant had also arrived at the yard to inspect the truck.

In a bid to sneak past the reception desk and snap photos of the truck, the tipster attempts to bribe the police officer. However, when the officer turns down his offer, Reacher delivers a punch to his face, rendering him unconscious. The pair then venture into the yard together, where they uncover the truth. The informant manages to locate and photograph the truck but hesitates when he spots a car resembling Richard’s vehicle. He confides in Reacher that this car appears to be the one involved in the attempted kidnapping incident. Reacher counters by suggesting there could be numerous cars like this throughout the city, potentially belonging to someone else. Eventually, they depart, and it is later revealed that Duffy is hidden beneath the vehicle with her, using license plates as a disguise.

When it seems like Reacher might take a nap, he’s summoned for another task. Earlier, at the gym, Paulie and Reacher cross paths. Paulie inquires about how much weight Reacher can bench press, to which Reacher responds that he doesn’t find exercise particularly appealing. He believes it doesn’t accurately measure a man’s strength. Instead, they engage in a little strength-testing game. The game involves arm wrestling, with Paulie taking position behind the Preacher bench and resting his elbow on it. Reacher would attempt to force his opponent’s fist down while Paulie would strive to resist. Feigning weakness after failing to move Paulie’s fist, Reacher releases his grip, causing Paulie to accidentally punch himself in the face. On the brink of a physical altercation, their confrontation is interrupted by Beck’s head of security, who orders them to prepare for work.

In a new mission, Reacher has been assigned to drive a Bizarre Bazaar truck to one of their locations. Upon seizing the wheel, he contacts Duffy to devise a strategy for inspecting the truck’s contents. Meanwhile, he also reaches out to Frances Neagley (portrayed by Maria Sten) for information on specific individuals. Neagley offers her assistance as usual, but Reacher declines, explaining that this situation is riskier than ever and he can’t involve her this time around.

A short while later, Duffy phones a police buddy to inspect the truck, but discovers nothing, leading Reacher to suspect that this vehicle delivery is some kind of trust exercise. Having delivered the rugs, he hops into another truck and returns to the warehouse where he was supposed to be picked up. Upon arrival, he encounters the same informant from earlier, initiating a conversation with him.

It appears that the source suspects Reacher is deceiving everyone, pretending to be someone he’s not. At the same time, Duke tries to contact Reacher for a pickup, coincidentally as the informant suggests that a former US Army major could be colluding with the police. Before the source could discuss this, Reacher accidentally hits his head on a table and fatally injures him. Subsequently, Reacher alters his position under the table and subsequently meets Duke outside the warehouse.
