With adversaries surrounding him from every direction, Reacher resorted to his innate instincts and military knowledge to outwit lethal hazards. However, this season wasn’t solely about action; it was a mental game of cat and mouse, where each move brought him closer to exposing a sinister plot. The audience caught a glimpse of Quinn’s intelligence as he compelled Reacher and the team to alter their strategies. Although Reacher is intelligent and adept at handling such situations, completing this mission won’t be an easy feat for him. Can he and his team unravel the mystery and save two innocent lives? Let’s see how Season 3 of Reacher concluded.
What happened in Season 3 of Reacher?
In Season 3 of the series Reacher, our protagonist embarks on a new mission in Maine. But things are more complex than they initially appear. Right at the start of the season, Reacher rescues a college student from kidnapping and unintentionally kills a police officer during this incident. The student, Richard Beck, is none other than the son of a wealthy businessman named Zachary Beck (portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall). Richard requests Reacher to visit his house because his father can help him in this predicament. After careful consideration, Reacher meets with Zachary and becomes an integral member of his team. However, it is later exposed that Reacher had been covertly entering the Beck household as part of a well-planned strategy masterminded by himself and DEA Agent Susan Duffy (depicted by Sonya Cassidy). As the story unfolds, Reacher systematically eliminates key members of Beck’s team to uncover his illicit activities.
In a surprising turn of events, the ex-US general encounters Xavier Quinn, whom he believed had been killed years prior, in a state of shock. As flashbacks unfold, we learn that Reacher first crossed paths with Quinn while investigating a case where Quinn was selling weapons blueprints to hostile nations. Notably, Quinn was also once part of the military. In the course of the investigation, Reacher received crucial information from Dominique Kohl, who kept him updated on the case and provided aid. Upon gathering sufficient evidence against Quinn, Reacher instructed Kohl to make the arrest. However, when she failed to return, Reacher grew concerned and launched a search party. As he delved deeper into Quinn’s past, he ultimately tracked one of Quinn’s properties and entered a barn. There, he discovered Kohl’s lifeless body suspended in mid-air. The flashbacks conclude with Reacher shooting Quinn, who plunges into the sea. Tragically, Quinn survived but lost all memory, leading him to operate an illicit weapons trade and supply them to enemy nations.
As time went on, it became evident that Beck was merely a puppet, with all actions being orchestrated by Quinn, who has since changed his name to Julius McCabe. However, Reacher isn’t working alone on this case, as he is backed by Duffy. This situation holds particular significance for Duffy because one of her sources, Teresa Daniels, was abducted by Quinn. She firmly believes that Teresa is still alive and intends to rescue her. Additionally, she trusts that Reacher is the best person to assist with this case. Consequently, Duffy enlists Reacher’s aid in solving the mystery. In the second-to-last episode, Neagley joins the team and assists in completing the mission. They learn that the weapons exchange will occur at a yard, and they start making plans to prevent it. Reacher, Duffy, Neagley, and the ATF work together to halt the transaction from taking place. However, it appears that Quinn is a formidable strategist who manages to outmaneuver Reacher by executing the deal at Beck’s house.
Reacher Season 3 Ending Explained

In the climactic scene of Season 3’s Reacher, titled Unfinished Business, we find ourselves immediately thrust into a tense standoff at the yard. Following a crucial conversation with Neagley, Reacher discovers that Quinn has sent his men to eliminate Beck and others at the location. Without delay, Reacher springs into action, swiftly subduing one of Quinn’s operatives. The situation quickly deteriorates into a fierce battle, causing significant losses among ATF agents and Quinn’s men. Amazingly, one of Quinn’s men manages to escape and tries to alert his superior. Reacher steps in, compelling him to erase the message and instead report that the situation is under control. Simultaneously, Neagley informs Reacher that the Tehran buyers have arrived at Beck’s house, indicating that the exchange is imminent. To prevent the transaction and rescue Richard Beck and Teresa Daniels, Reacher devises a strategy to infiltrate Beck’s property using Quinn’s trucks. When Neagley expresses concern about dealing with Paulie, a formidable adversary, Reacher offers his assurance—he’ll handle it.
Within the house, Quinn is keen to advance the agreement, nudging the purchasers to wrap it up swiftly. To make the deal more appealing, he flashes their superior a picture of Teresa, suggesting a “bonus gift” upstairs. However, the buyers appear more focused on indulging themselves before making a decision. Simultaneously, Duffy, Neagley, Beck, and Guillermo sneak into the house, each playing a part in Reacher’s strategy. Neagley masquerades as a server to watch Quinn and the buyers closely. Meanwhile, Guillermo is assigned to rescue Richard, while Duffy searches for Teresa. Disguised among the staff, Neagley keeps tabs on Quinn’s actions. On the other hand, Guillermo moves through the house but encounters one of Quinn’s security guards. His efforts to reason with the guard lead to a physical altercation. Though initially outmatched, Guillermo retaliates and eventually overpowers the guard, later finding Richard in a bathroom. In another part of the house, Duffy manages to save Teresa Daniels.
Instead of a fierce confrontation occurring within Beck’s grounds, it’s Olivier Richters’ character, Paulie, who engages in a grueling brawl with Reacher on the outskirts of the property. At first glance, Reacher appears to be dominating, but Paulie’s ferocity soon reveals his immense strength. He relentlessly attacks Reacher, demonstrating not only his power but also his agility and quickness. The fight seems to have a decisive winner at times, but the creators skillfully crafted an intense battle that showcased these two titans’ abilities. In one instance, Paulie drags Reacher’s body, chains his neck, and suspends him in mid-air, leading viewers to believe he had killed him. However, Reacher utilizes his strength and intellect to escape the predicament. The fight persists until they both tumble off a cliff and into a river. Even then, these colossal figures continued their struggle and outmatched each other. Reacher manages to subdue Paulie in the sea, but he doesn’t stop there. As he approaches Beck’s property, he learns that Paulie is still alive and tracks him down to the property.
This version aims to simplify the original text while maintaining the essence of the storyline.
The battle concludes as Reacher manages to outsmart Paulie, using a large weapon stored in his security office, to ultimately eliminate Paulie.
Quinn realizes who Reacher really is

In my own words,
Once more demonstrating his ruthless nature, I betray the Tehran buyers by gunning down their men instead of completing the deal. As I traverse the corridors, I encounter Richard, who I drag into Beck’s office, a room filled with an assortment of weapons. While grabbing a weapon from the cabinet, I am confronted by Beck, who threatens me, stating that if anything happens to his son, he will take my life. Armed with a firearm that Richard had kindly given me as a birthday present, I remain resolute. The air between us is thick with tension, and for a moment, I set down the machine gun, giving Richard an opportunity to approach his father. Just as Beck prepares to shoot, the gun malfunctions—a consequence of the damage that Richard had attempted to fix in the previous episode. Recognizing that Beck’s weapon is now defective, I act swiftly and end his life on the spot. In the chaos, Richard seizes the opportunity to flee before I can attack again.
Towards the end of the final scene, Quinn attempted to escape from Beck’s residence. However, his getaway was halted by the Russian gang, who demanded their money back. Suddenly, Reacher appeared from behind, declaring his intention to take Quinn. The Russians persisted with their demand for repayment, and Neagley stepped forward with a bag full of cash, suggesting a trade: Money in exchange for Quinn. Initially, the Russians hesitated, but eventually agreed, seeing as they had retrieved their money and no longer wanted Quinn. Thus, they handed Quinn back to Reacher and departed. With a shotgun in hand, Reacher questioned if Quinn recognized him. To which Quinn replied that he didn’t. Reacher reminded him that the woman he murdered several years prior was named Dominique Kohl. Upon recalling this, Quinn tried to react, but Reacher swiftly ended his life.
At the end of Season 3, Duffy informs Reacher that she has no intention of getting involved in a romantic relationship right now and prefers not to commit at this time. In response, Reacher playfully suggests that Duffy is stealing his lines since it’s usually him who makes such remarks. Meanwhile, Richard decides to take all the money from their home and departs to begin a fresh chapter in life, leaving Duffy to escort Teresa to her grandmother’s house. With that, Reacher hops back on his motorcycle and continues his journey.
Season 3 of Reacher is available for streaming on Prime Video.
