Red Dead 2 Players Officially Have New Reasons to Log In for January 2026

Rockstar Games is definitely busy developing the next Grand Theft Auto game, with recent reports indicating they’re nearing the end of content creation and moving towards final polishing. However, they haven’t forgotten about their other titles. GTA Online continues to receive regular updates, but Red Dead Redemption 2‘s online mode hasn’t been as successful. In 2022, Red Dead Online players even held a symbolic ‘funeral’ to express their disappointment with its lack of development.

Rockstar Games is starting the year with a series of special, time-limited missions and rewards for the online portion of Red Dead Redemption 2. Players can earn these rewards each week until February 2nd, offering plenty to do while they wait for a full next-generation update to Red Dead 2.

Throughout January, Red Dead Online players can earn three times the usual RDO$, Role XP, and XP by completing regular bounties. Legendary and Infamous Bounties will pay out double RDO$, Gold, and XP. If you complete a Legendary Bounty, you’ll receive Harshaw Gauntlers. Plus, Bounty Hunters at Rank 25 or higher who play anytime this month will get the Clairborn Coat. Finally, both Manhunt and Day of Reckoning events will offer triple RDO$ and XP until February 2nd, and all participants will receive a special charm.

  • January 6 – January 12: Complete 3 Bounty Missions to receive a Reward for the San Luis Shore Treasure Map
  • January 13 – January 19: Complete All Your Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges to Receive an Offer for 40% Off an Established or Distinguished Bounty Hunter Role Item
  • January 20 – January 26: Complete 3 Bounty Missions to Receive an Offer for 50% Off a Weapon
  • January 27 – February 2: Players Rank 50 or Higher Can Log In to Receive the Beige Torranca Coa

Players can earn new rewards by completing tasks, and over the next few weeks, new clothing will be available in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalog in Red Dead. Look out for items like the Gator Hat, Strickland Boots, Tier Pants, Irwin Coat, Clymene Coat, and Shaffer Chaps – and potentially even more!

It hasn’t been a hugely exciting start to the year, but considering Rockstar doesn’t focus much on Red Dead Online, any updates are welcome. Hopefully, the next-gen version of Red Dead 2, when it finally arrives, will revitalize Red Dead Online. For now, though, the rewards available this month are a good thing.
