Players have been surprised by a new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 that adds Pokémon to the game, and the results are quite impressive.
Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 are eagerly awaiting news about a possible upgraded version of the game. While Rockstar hasn’t officially announced anything yet – which is typical for them – players are left to wait. Fortunately, PC gamers have a promising mod to enjoy in the meantime.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Pokémon Mod Will Allow Players to Catch & Train Animals, Along with Battles and Gym Leaders
Blurbstv recently shared a preview of a fantastic mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 on X (formerly Twitter) that turns the game into a Pokémon-like experience. The mod lets Arthur Morgan capture animals – everything from bears and dogs to snakes and even horses – by throwing Poké Balls, just like in the Pokémon games. It’s a really impressive look at all the new features!
Next, players will get to battle non-player characters (NPCs) who each have their own special moves. These battles will include gym leaders, who are part of Arthur’s group. The preview showed a battle that looked a lot like Pokémon, with attacks like ‘Confusion’, ‘Body Slam’, ‘Venom’, and ‘Molt’.
I’ve transformed Red Dead Redemption 2 into a Pokémon-style RPG! You can now catch and name wild animals, battle characters with different types and moves, and challenge Arthur’s gang, who act as Gym Leaders. Keep an eye out for the release!

I just watched an awesome YouTube video showing everything that’s going into the Blurbs mod! It’s so cool – they’ve even replaced the throwing knife with a Poke Ball! They’re adding a bunch of quality-of-life stuff too, like being able to nickname your characters. The creator said they’re still planning on releasing it, even though it’s been a lot of work, but they didn’t say when we can expect it yet. I’m really excited!
