A content creator has developed a strange modification for the game that makes players see the last moments of non-player characters (Red Dead Redemption 2) after defeating them. The streamer showed how the Red Dead Redemption 2 mod functions and how it was built, leading to some funny outcomes thanks to suggestions from their audience.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a deeply engaging game with a lot of intricate details, and players are *still* finding new things in it, even years after its release. Many fans have also been working to enhance the game even more by creating mods. Some of these mods aim to improve the existing gameplay in a meaningful way, while others for Red Dead Redemption 2 are just plain funny or strange.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Makes the Player Watch Dying NPCs’ Memories
A streamer called Blurbs recently showcased a mod they built, inspired by a suggestion from one of their viewers. This Red Dead Redemption 2 mod creates a cinematic flashback to an NPC’s life immediately after they are fatally wounded by Arthur. Blurbs detailed the mod’s creation process on their YouTube channel, explaining that they pre-planned the cinematic scenes. These scenes include touching moments like NPCs looking at their children, writing letters about returning home, getting married, or even attending funerals.
It might seem like a big deal, but Blurbs explains he “might have messed up.” He was in charge of the visuals, but he asked his Twitch chat to write the dialogue you hear during the scenes. This resulted in a lot of funny lines being added, with many jokes about popular memes featuring Spider-Man, Rick and Morty, and One Piece. While using the mod, Blurbs laughed several times because the silly dialogue was so unexpected during the serious moments.

This mod is amusing by itself, but it’s not the first strange creation from Blurbs. For instance, Blurbs previously made a Red Dead Redemption 2 mod that lets players throw Jack Marston as a weapon, launching him across the screen to defeat enemies. It will be fun to see what Blurbs and his community come up with next for Red Dead Redemption 2, or other games in the future.
