As a dedicated gamer with over a decade of experience under my belt, I can’t help but be excited about the prospect of Red Dead Redemption 3. Six years have passed since the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, and it remains one of the best games I’ve ever played due to its immersive setting and complex characters. However, as a fan who grew particularly fond of Arthur Morgan and his rough charm, I must admit that I find myself lost without him.
Six years have passed since Red Dead Redemption 2 hit the shelves, and for good reason: its captivating storyline and immersive Old West setting have earned it a place among gaming greats. Consequently, enthusiasts of the Wild West genre eagerly anticipate the arrival of a third installment, given its enduring popularity. However, since we don’t want to reveal any spoilers, Rockstar would need to introduce a new concept for the sequel due to the game’s conclusion. The possibilities are endless, and they could create an engaging and innovative narrative once more.
Without a doubt, Arthur Morgan’s raw and unpolished leadership was essential for RDR2’s allure. However, if some find his brooding outlaw image a bit too attractive, there’s a mod to make him appear more “ugly” and “menacing.” It’s an option tailored for those who prefer a grittier portrayal.
New Face, Who’s This?
Although Arthur exhibits aggressive behaviors and an uncompassionate demeanor, there’s no denying the allure of his charismatic presence. Deep down, isn’t he essentially good-hearted? Known for his playful banter and devotion to those he cares about, Arthur’s endearing innocence is concealed beneath his ruggedly handsome features.
Luckily, for those who prefer the “rough around the edges” version of the Cowboys in Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s a solution. On Nexusmods, a designer has created an add-on to bring back Arthur Morgan’s original beta appearance. This modification makes Arthur look younger and more rugged by restoring his beta face, giving him new scars, brown stubble, and altering his facial structure through expression editing.
According to a tweet by user Ameer, reactions to the post are divided amongst three groups. Some users, like one commenter, express their preference for the less polished appearance of Arthur, stating “I prefer this. The rougher version of Arthur suits him in my opinion.” Others, such as another commenter, remain neutral and add “ehhh I don’t really care for it, but to each their own.” A third group of users, including one commenter, find it difficult to discern any difference between the old and new depiction of Arthur’s face.
In my opinion, I haven’t noticed much change in RDR2, and I might be in the minority here, but I find his weathered and aged appearance quite appealing. Red Dead Redemption 2 may be older now, but it continues to draw a large following with many players engaging daily. However, fans wouldn’t turn down an upgraded version with 60fps mode, 4K graphics, and additional features. Most wouldn’t mind spending around $10 for this enhancement, though.
