Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare coming to PC

Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare coming to PC

As a seasoned gamer with memories of countless adventures etched deep within my gaming memory banks, the news that Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are making their grand entrance onto PC has sent waves of excitement coursing through me. It’s been quite some time since I last roamed the vast, wild landscapes of this iconic game, and the thought of revisiting John Marston’s journey in stunning detail is nothing short of exhilarating.

It seems as though an eternity has passed, but finally, the news is out – Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare, long-awaited titles from Rockstar Games, will be making their way onto personal computers.

It seems that Double Eleven is working together with Rockstar Games on the PC version of the game, and they’re planning to incorporate improvements tailored specifically for PC users.

For the very first time, the epic tale of John Marston that has been cherished for so long is now playable on personal computers, offering a breathtaking, enhanced visual experience. On October 29th, both Red Dead Redemption and its chilling undead companion story, Undead Nightmare, will be available for PC gamers.

Here’s some of the features for the PC version:

  • Native 4K resolution and beyond at up to 144hz on supported hardware
  • Monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9)
  • Full keyboard and mouse support
  • Upscaling technologies support for Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0
  • Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation
  • Adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more

Offers the full, standalone adventures of both games, encompassing all extra material from the Special Editions. Note that Red Dead Redemption does not include any multiplayer aspects.

Explore the tale of once-infamous outlaw John Marston, who hunts down the final fugitives from the infamous Van der Linde Gang in the initial release for personal computers, a precursor highly praised by critics and following it up with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Recently, Red Dead Redemption became available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Since these systems are relatively old, there’s a good possibility that it will run smoothly on the Steam Deck as well, making it an ideal platform to replay the game. However, it is important to note that you will need a third-party account (specifically, a Rockstar Games account) to play it on Steam, which can be linked to your Steam account. So, keep an eye out for updates!

In 2018, Mick shared his thoughts after revisiting the game, stating: “The multiplayer mode might keep you engaged, but it’s not the heart of Red Dead Redemption. This game is about John Marston, a character struggling to adapt from an old world to a new one, yearning for freedom yet unable to escape his haunting past. As a gaming experience, Red Dead Redemption excels as a unique open-world role-playing and action adventure. From an narrative standpoint, it’s a powerful display of emotion and character that has not been surpassed on this console generation, and likely never will with the next generation fast approaching.

On October 29th, the games “Red Dead Redemption” and its spin-off “Undead Nightmare” are set to launch on the Rockstar Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store for PC users.
