Summary
- RDRMP mod brings multiplayer support to Red Dead Redemption on PC.
- The mod is still in the alpha stage but has already attracted over 1,000 downloads.
- The PC version of the game saw over 400 mods in 7 months, indicating strong interest from modding community.
More recently, the game “Red Dead Redemption” has been updated with a new modification for PC known as RDRMP. This addition offers an early version of multiplayer functionality within the game. Initially released on PC in 2024, “Red Dead Redemption” has garnered significant interest from the modding community, resulting in numerous popular modifications over time.
For over two decades, Rockstar Games has consistently demonstrated its talent for creating captivating single-player games like “Bully”, “GTA 4”, and “Max Payne 3”. More recently, they have made a significant mark in multiplayer gaming, especially with the ongoing success of the online mode from “GTA 5”, known as “GTA Online”. Even after nearly 12 years since its release, the developers continue to add new content, attracting thousands of players daily. However, compared to this, the multiplayer aspect of “Red Dead Redemption 2”, titled “Red Dead Online“, has not garnered the same level of player engagement, despite the base game remaining popular.
Originally, Red Dead Redemption doesn’t include a multiplayer mode similar to Red Dead Online. However, the RDRMP mod by K3rhos filled this gap on PC when it was released in April 2025. According to its description on Nexus Mods, the project aims to replicate the success of popular GTA mods like FiveM and MTA. At present, RDRMP is still in its early stages and is described as “barebones” and “experimental.” Despite lacking the polish that most Red Dead Redemption players might expect, K3rhos encourages those interested in experimenting with its API to give it a try.
Red Dead Redemption Gets New Multiplayer Mod
For the first time last month, the RDRMP mod was downloaded approximately a thousand times from Nexus Mods. Developed by K3rhos, who is also known for creating other notable mods for Red Dead Redemption like the Red Trainer with over 23K downloads. Given that the game’s peak concurrent player count on Steam is currently less than a thousand players, it remains to be seen if the multiplayer project can attract enough active players to gain momentum in the future.
For fans of Red Dead Redemption, the arrival of the game on PC is proving to be a great source of additional play value. Within seven months of its release, over 400 custom additions, or mods, have already appeared on Nexus Mods. It appears that this stream of fan-created content for the game won’t dry up any time soon. The latest multiplayer project is a testament to the commitment of the modding community towards expanding and improving the action-adventure experience in the future.
