As a longtime enthusiast of groundbreaking games, I can’t help but feel excited about the formation of Day 4 Night Game Studio, spearheaded by none other than Christian Cantamessa and Davide Solani, veterans from the Red Dead Redemption and Mario + Rabbids franchises respectively. The duo’s rich background in creating immersive worlds and compelling narratives gives me high hopes for their new venture.

In recent times, it’s become more common to observe established game creators taking on new roles, leveraging their expertise to create remarkable gaming experiences.

This time around, the creators behind the renowned Red Dead Redemption series and Mario + Rabbids games have joined forces to establish a brand-new game studio named Day 4 Night Studios.

In the role at Red Dead, we find Christian Cantamessa, who has been the lead designer and scriptwriter for the series. Now, he’ll be taking charge of the upcoming project as its leader.

He is also known for his contribution to other projects such as Shadow of Mordor and Perfect Dark.

Originally hailing from the “Mario + Rabbids” universe, we now introduce Davide Solani, the Creative Director for that series, who will be co-heading Day 4 Night together with Cantamessa.

The formal statement details that the pair is joined by numerous experienced developers, forming a team with them, to develop a fresh intellectual property.

They recently unveiled their fresh studio setup, disclosing that they’ve already obtained financial backing from Krafton and 1UP Ventures.

For a quick reminder, Krafton is the massive company responsible for numerous successful studios and popular franchises. Among them, their most renowned creations are PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and PUBG Mobile.

As a gaming enthusiast myself, I’m part of a venture known as 1UP Ventures – a brainchild of none other than Ed Fries, who was not only one of the co-founders of Xbox but also held the prestigious position of Vice President at Microsoft. From day one, our mission has been to foster and support a thriving community of independent game developers.

Sharing his thoughts and passion for creating video games, Cantamessa shared the following:

As a passionate gamer embarking on my journey, I was captivated by video games’ ability to weave untold narratives and craft immersive realms that could shape minds. In the spirit of innovation, creativity, and the pure joy I felt back then, Day 4 Night is a return to those roots – embracing that sense of wonder, that childlike curiosity, and pushing boundaries once again.

Given that Sony’s Concord was developed by seasoned professionals and didn’t succeed as intended, it’s crucial for Day 4 Night to proceed with caution to avoid repeating Sony’s mistake in creating a live-shooter hero game.
