In the opening chapter of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, players accompany Lin and Elma on a guided tour around BLADE in New Los Angeles. As the tour concludes, both Lin, Elma, and Secretary Nagi will attempt to persuade you to become part of their team.
This tutorial outlines the consequences for players if they choose not to align with BLADE when interacting with Nagi in the game, Xenoblade Chronicles X.
What Happens if You Refuse to Join BLADE in Xenoblade Chronicles X?
There’s No Choice!
During your chat with the Secretary, if you opt for the “Refuse” response and nonverbally express doubt (“shrug your shoulders and shake your head”), Nagi might attempt to persuade you to participate by subtly making you feel remorseful about Elma’s past actions of rescuing you from the life pod on the White Whale.
Following the attempt at persuasion, you’ll be offered another opportunity to pick the appropriate course of action. Should you decline again, Nagi will present fresh arguments in an effort to change your mind. And if you refuse a third time, his final words will offer you one last chance to agree.
In Xenoblade Chronicles X, it’s not possible to truly decline BLADE as your choice will only prompt Nagi to repeat the same dialogue, regardless of your selection.
Following a few brief scenes, we move on to Chapter 2. The game has a total of 12 main story chapters and an additional 3 bonus missions in the Epilogue.
