Reggie Fils-Aimé “Surprised” Xbox Hasn’t Released More Games On Switch 2

As a big Nintendo fan, I was really surprised to hear Reggie Fils-Aimé say he’s shocked Microsoft hasn’t put more Xbox games on the new Switch 2. It just seems like a missed opportunity, and I agree with him – I expected to see more cross-platform play by now!

Reggie, in a conversation with The Game Business, talked about Xbox’s approach to working with other companies and said he thought there would be a lot more games playable on both Xbox and Nintendo consoles by this point.

Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé expressed surprise that Xbox hasn’t done more to bring its games to the upcoming Switch 2. He believes several Xbox games could be easily adapted for the new Nintendo console and is surprised we haven’t seen more announcements about it.

Fils-Aimé mentioned he had expected Xbox to reveal a few new games before the holiday season.

He expressed his surprise that a specific announcement hadn’t been made, especially considering the time of year leading up to the holidays. He’d anticipated something throughout the fall and was expecting it to happen by now.

Right now, Microsoft has brought Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 to the Switch 2, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is planned for release around 2026. Beyond those two games, Nintendo hasn’t announced any other new or ported first-party titles for its latest console.

Xbox Says They Want To Support The Switch 2

Shortly after Nintendo revealed the Switch 2, Xbox head Phil Spencer expressed interest in supporting the new console. He also praised Nintendo, calling them a valuable partner to Xbox.

At the time, Spencer explained that he strongly believes in Nintendo’s importance to the gaming industry and that Microsoft will continue to support them. He also emphasized how valuable Nintendo’s support for Microsoft’s games will be going forward.

Everyone’s wondering if more Xbox games will eventually come to the Switch 2, but there’s no telling when that might happen. For now, all fans can do is wait and see.
