After over ten years since it was first announced, Mewgenics is launching on February 10th. This turn-based strategy roguelite game was created by Tyler Glaiel and Edmund McMillen, the developers behind popular indie hits like Super Meat Boy, The End Is Nigh, and The Binding of Isaac.
Many are calling Mewgenics a uniquely engaging game about breeding cats, and it’s currently receiving incredibly high scores – averaging around 90 on sites like Opencritic and Metacritic. This makes it one of the top-rated games of 2026, so players are eager to find out when it will be released and on which platforms they can play it.

Steam has announced that Mewgenics will launch at 9:00 am PST on February 10th. Unlike many console game releases that happen at midnight locally, Steam games are released simultaneously worldwide. If you’re not in North America, please refer to the table above to find the release time in your specific time zone.
During a recent livestream, McMillen and Glaiel explained that the release time isn’t final and could be subject to change. However, as of right now, they’re still planning to release Mewgenics at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.
Will Mewgenics be Available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch?
Edmund McMillen has indicated that an announcement about a Nintendo Switch version of Mewgenics is likely to come sometime this summer. While he previously thought porting the game to other consoles wouldn’t be worthwhile, he now says that could change if Mewgenics receives positive reviews. This means the game might eventually be released on PlayStation and Xbox as well.
