As a seasoned Remnant 2 gamer with countless hours spent traversing the vibrant and mysterious worlds of this game, I can confidently say that the N’Erudian Reaper is one of the most challenging boss fights I’ve encountered thus far. This towering spider-like robot, reminiscent of a mechanical Godzilla, tests your reflexes, strategy, and patience in equal measure.
During your journey in the Dark Horizon DLC of Remnant 2, you may stumble upon the formidable boss battle known as the N’Erudian Reaper. As you’ve likely encountered the aggressive robotic spider-like creatures that roam the alien farmland, consider these encounters mere warm-ups for this towering adversary. The N’Erudian Reaper is an upgraded version of those mechanical minions and presents a highly intense boss fight that makes its lesser versions seem like a walk in the park. If you’re finding it difficult to conquer this specific boss battle within The Dark Horizon DLC, you’ll likely be keen to discover tactics for defeating the N’Erudian Reaper in Remnant 2 and learn some useful strategies to emerge victorious.
Although not the toughest boss in Remnant 2, the N’Erudian Reaper offers a distinct test with its colossal spider-robot form capable of perplexing and obliterating foes through powerful attacks and blazing quick maneuvers. If this sounds like the kind of challenge you seek, you might also be curious about the location of the N’Erudian Reaper on The Dark Horizon’s expansive map, or perhaps how to circumvent it instead.
N’Erudian Reaper Boss Location In Remnant 2
You might stumble upon the N’Erudian Reaper boss battle as you delve into a region named the Detritus Foundry while playing Remnant 2’s Dark Horizon DLC. The Detritus Foundry is situated to the east of Agronomy Sector, and it’s also where you can gather other interesting items such as the Crop Sample along with your exploration.
To locate the N’Erudian Reaper, keep venturing deeper into the Detritus Foundry until you come across a spacious, hexagonal arena-like chamber adorned with blue electric webs. Upon entering this room, a brief cinematic sequence unfolds, depicting a Specter enemy morphing into the N’Erudian Reaper, initiating the boss battle immediately.
How To Beat The N’Erudian Reaper In Remnant 2
In terms of strategies for combating the N’Erudian Reaper, they can vary based on your character class, but here are some general tactics to keep in mind when facing the N’Erudian Reaper’s various attacks. This boss battle becomes increasingly challenging and chaotic as the N’Erudian Reaper’s health decreases. In our experience, we chose a Hunter-Engineeer build and focused on leveraging its strengths such as long-range accuracy and power during the fight.
Make The Most Of Support
In many cases within “Remnant 2,” characters, or Archetypes, provide assistance, such as the automated turret for the Engineer. To fully utilize these assets, it is advisable to set up supportive devices in the battlefield at the onset of the fight against the N’Erudian Reaper, thereby gradually reducing its health from the start.
Charge, Ground Pound, And Drilling Attacks
In the game, the N’Erudian Reaper alternates between melee and ranged assaults at varying distances. But when it gets near, beware, as it either leaps into the air to strike the ground twice or charges straight towards you. To dodge these attacks, try to move sideways or execute a roll to dodge. If possible, using the Misty Step Dodge in Remnant 2 would be more advantageous since it doesn’t drain your stamina.
After stomping on the ground, the N’Erudian Reaper has another move where it burrows into the floor, making maintaining a safe distance equally important. The fight becomes particularly complex due to numerous environmental hazards and the boss itself to dodge, as demonstrated in the video below.
Electric Webs
Whenever you reduce the N’Erudian Reaper’s health, it responds by trapping you with electric blue nets, usually arranged in a square pattern horizontally or vertically. It is crucial to steer clear of these nets entirely to prevent extra harm and to ensure that you don’t become entangled within them, as being trapped in the webs will slow your movements significantly.
Projectile Orbs And Holographic Replication
When not using webs or engaging in close combat, the N’Erudian Reaper prefers to retreat to the room’s edge and either hurls damaging projectiles or rapidly materializes in multiple locations with self-replicating holograms to confuse you. Dodge between the projectiles to avoid taking damage and stay aware of the Reaper’s swiftly shifting position. Attempt to deal damage from a distance by focusing on shooting it with one of Remnant 2’s long guns, even as it appears to move rapidly. This requires quick, precise shooting skills. It takes the most damage (around 266) when hit in the head or main body rather than its legs, but any area you can hit will help.
To vanquish the N’Erudian Reaper in combat, continuously employ the tactics outlined earlier until its health is entirely depleted. Although there are a few small prizes for overcoming it, there’s a chest to unlock near the second entryway to the arena. Additionally, you’ll receive a Trait Point, three Luminite Crystals, 500 Scrap, and a Replication Pod. You’ll likely be glad to find that the Detritus Foundry exit is nearby too, with the exit symbol appearing immediately after the fight concludes.
