The game REPO is getting a new ‘tumble grab’ feature that its creators admit might be too powerful and unbalance gameplay. REPO, released by Semiwork in February 2025, quickly gained popularity for offering both thrilling scares and fun moments when played with friends.
In the cooperative horror game *REPO*, you and up to five friends work together to retrieve valuable objects using a physics-based grabbing mechanic. Be warned – scary monsters like the Apex Predator roam the levels! This creature might look like an adorable duckling, but it transforms into a terrifying beast. The developers are committed to improving *REPO* and have already released updates with fixes and new content. They’ve recently announced a major upcoming feature that promises to shake things up significantly.
REPO Will Add Tumble Grab in Future Update
REPO has announced that the October 30th update will include a new “tumble grab” feature. According to a post on the REPO Steam page, players will be able to pick up weapons and items while tumbling. They’ll also be able to grab and climb walls when the on-screen indicators change color, adding a familiar gameplay element to the horror game. However, using this ability will require stamina.
Players reacted enthusiastically to the news in comments on both the Steam post and YouTube video. Many pointed out that this new feature directly addresses a challenge posed by the Mentalist, a particularly dangerous enemy in REPO. The Mentalist deals heavy damage and is difficult to fight due to its ability to create an energy field to grab and throw objects – and players! Now, with the tumble grab mechanic, REPO players can hold their weapon even while suspended in the air, allowing them to fight back.

The upcoming Monster Update for the game *REPO* will introduce a new feature called the ‘tumble grab.’ Announced on August 29th by semiwork, the update includes new monsters, gameplay mechanics, and features. In addition to the tumble grab, players will soon be able to communicate while spectating a match. This is done by obtaining their deceased character’s head, waiting for a battery to charge, and then interacting with the players still in the game.
