REPO: Tumble Climb & Tumble Grab Explained

In REPO, defeating enemies isn’t just about strength – it’s about strategy. A key skill to master is Tumbling. It might look silly – your character basically rolls into a ball – but it’s surprisingly effective and can be a lifesaver. This guide will teach you how to Tumble, and how to use upgrades like Tumble Grab and Tumble Climb to stay alive in REPO.

How To Perform a Basic Tumble in REPO

Before you can do a tumble, you need to check your settings. Open the settings menu by pressing the Escape key, then go to the Controls section. Make sure the tumble action is set to the Q key. Once you’ve confirmed this, you’ll be able to roll!

To perform a basic tumble:

  • Sprint forward.
  • Jump (press the Space bar).
  • While in mid-air, press Q to tumble.

Your character will transform into a small, rounded shape – essentially a head with short arms and legs – and quickly roll forward. This move lets you avoid attacks and can even slightly damage some enemies if you use it at the right moment.

Tumbling doesn’t use up your stamina, making it a move you can use repeatedly without worrying about running out of energy.

Tumble Grab, Explained

One of the new features in REPO’s Monster Update is the Tumble Grab. When you’re tumbling, you can now pick up objects, items, and weapons. You’ll know something nearby is grabbable when the red outlines on your screen turn yellow.

The Tumble Grab ability is really versatile. It lets you quickly grab weapons while rolling, which is great for defending against enemies. It can even help you avoid certain attacks, like being lifted into the air by a Mentalist.

Tumble Climb, Explained

Okay, so one of the coolest new things they’ve added is called Tumble Climb. Basically, once you get it unlocked, it lets you actually climb while you’re tumbling – which is amazing! It just gives you so much more control when you’re all scrunched up and moving fast. It’s a game-changer, honestly.

The Tumble Climb upgrade in REPO lets you climb walls and ceilings, and quickly move around a room by chaining wall-grabs together. It essentially transforms your Semibot into something like a grappling hook on wheels.

As a movie buff, I always think of stamina as a character’s ability to just keep going – and in this context, it’s exactly the same! Basically, how much stamina you have dictates how long and well you can climb. The more you’ve got, the longer you can hold on and actually make progress scaling something.
