Resident Evil Requiem Footage Seems to Be Hiding a Secret, Unannounced Character

Dedicated fans of the Resident Evil series think they’ve found a hidden character in the recent gameplay trailer for Resident Evil Requiem. The series has always included memorable supporting characters, like Rebecca Chambers in the original Resident Evil and Ashley Graham in Resident Evil 4. Now that Resident Evil Requiem is coming out on February 27th, fans are eager to discover which supporting characters will appear in the new game.

Now that we know how much you’ll play as Leon in Resident Evil Requiem, it’s clear he’s a major character – you’ll control him for about half of the game. His gameplay focuses on action and features plenty of opportunities to kick undead enemies. Meanwhile, the new character Grace brings the game back to the classic horror style of the series. If this is Grace’s first time fighting zombies, like Jill, Chris, Claire, and Leon before her, she’ll likely need some help. Fans on Reddit think they’ve discovered a new character in Resident Evil Requiem. A screenshot from the recent gameplay shows Grace seemingly interacting with a child wearing white. Viewers also pointed out that at the 5:42 mark, an objective asks the player to “Take the child to the puzzle box.” This has led to speculation about whether the child Grace interacts with is the same one mentioned in the objective, and what role this child might play in the story.

This isn’t the first time a child has appeared in a Resident Evil game. Resident Evil 2 included Sherry Birkin, who players met while playing as Claire. She was about 12 years old and helped both with gameplay and the story. It’s still unknown how significant the new child character will be in Resident Evil Requiem.

Fans will have to wait a bit longer to find out the identity of the mysterious child in Resident Evil Requiem. The game officially brings Leon back to Raccoon City after 28 years, so many are curious about which other characters might reappear.
