Resident Evil Requiem Leak Might Have Revealed New Playable Character

So, I was browsing Reddit and people spotted something really interesting on the GameStop website. It looks like they accidentally revealed that Rosemary Winters – Mia and Ethan’s daughter – might be a playable character in the Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil Requiem on PC! It’s not official yet, but fans think this listing is a big hint.

The timing doesn’t quite add up, as fans have noticed Rosemay should be a little girl during the events of Resident Evil Requiem. However, there’s a popular theory that might explain this.

Who is the Second Playable Character in Resident Evil Requiem?

Lately, there’s been a lot of discussion about a second playable character in the upcoming game, Resident Evil Requiem, alongside Grace Ashcroft. The most popular idea is that it will be Leon Kennedy, a well-known character from the Resident Evil series who first appeared in Resident Evil 4 back in 2005.

But a recent leak published by GameStop has suggested otherwise.

In the product description for the Deluxe Edition of Requiem, it clearly states:

The Deluxe Edition comes with a digital code for the PC version on Steam, a collectible SteelBook case, and these digital extras:

  • “The Sanctuary” Expansion Pass: Includes 2 new story scenarios and a major Mercenaries mode update.
  • “Morphic Visor” Cosmetic Filter: A unique cosmetic look for Rose’s visor.
  • “Shadow Walker” Costume Pack: 3 exclusive outfits for Rosemary Winters.
  • Digital Artbook & Official Soundtrack

I’ve been reading theories on Reddit, and a lot of us think there’s going to be a time jump of some kind. The other option, controlling a really young Rosemary Winters – like, six or seven years old – just doesn’t seem likely unless something changes in the timeline.

Rosemary Winters appears to have multiple outfits and a unique ‘visor’ ability, hinting that she’ll undergo some kind of change or transformation within the game’s story.

Resident Evil Village got a downloadable expansion in 2022 called Shadows of Rose, which featured a 16-year-old Rosemary Winters dealing with frightening abilities. The expansion takes place in 2037, while the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem is set a few years earlier, around 2025 or 2026.

People are calling the GameStop listing inaccurate, and some believe the company rushed to publish it using AI without properly verifying the information.

We’ll probably find out what’s going on when The Game Awards are broadcast later this week, regardless of what the real story is.
