Resident Evil Requiem Leaks and Spoilers Are All Over the Internet

Be careful online if you’re excited about Resident Evil Requiem (also known as Resident Evil 9)! Spoilers for the game are appearing everywhere. It’s set to release on February 27th for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X, and fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival. The game has been creating a lot of excitement since it was announced.

The upcoming game, Resident Evil Requiem, will let players control two characters: a new face named Grace Ashcroft and the popular Leon S. Kennedy. Playing as Grace will offer a scary, first-person horror experience similar to Resident Evil 7 and Village, while Leon’s gameplay will be more action-packed, focusing on fighting lots of zombies. Players are eager to see how these different styles work together and to find out what happens to Grace and Leon in the game’s story.

Resident Evil Requiem’s Entire Story Has Leaked Online

Capcom has been keeping the story of Resident Evil Requiem under wraps, but trailers have shown us a return to the ruined Raccoon City and introduced the new villain, Victor Gideon. However, copies of the game have been leaked, leading to early livestreams and spoilers spreading online. If you want to avoid spoilers and experience the story as intended, it’s best to stay off social media until the game releases on February 27th.

While I won’t share any specific details about Resident Evil Requiem, fans should be aware that the entire game has unfortunately been leaked online. This means all the big surprises have been revealed. Resident Evil fans have waited five years for a new main game in the series, and it would be a shame to have the story ruined. Considering how long it typically takes to develop a new Resident Evil game, it could be quite a while before another one is released.

Resident Evil 10 is At Least 3 Years Away

Recent leaks suggest Capcom has a solid plan for future Resident Evil games. If the information is correct, Resident Evil Requiem will receive downloadable content later this year. A remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica is reportedly coming in 2027, and Resident Evil Zero will follow with its own remake in 2028. Finally, assuming there are no setbacks, we can expect Resident Evil 10 to be released around 2029.

If Resident Evil 10 comes out in 2029, it would be a quick release for a major installment in the series. Previous main games have been spaced out by four to five years – five years separated Resident Evil 6 and 7, and then another four between 7 and Resident Evil Village. With Resident Evil Requiem planned for 2026, that would also be five years between full games. A 2030 release might be more likely, but it’s still too soon to say for sure.

Okay, so if those leaks are true, I’m guessing we’ll hear about the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem within the next six months, and then not long after that, they’ll finally announce the Code: Veronica remake! Honestly, with these Resident Evil remakes, leaks are kind of expected, but I really hope they can keep the details for Requiem‘s DLC under wraps until it’s released. It’d be awesome if Resident Evil 10 didn’t have its whole story spoiled online like what happened with Requiem – that really takes the fun out of discovering things for yourself.
