Revealed: The Brutal Fates of Abby’s Crew in The Last of Us Part 2

Spoilers ahead for The Last of Us Part 2!

In a compelling and emotionally charged manner, The Last of Us Part 2 leads players to empathize deeply with Ellie as she navigates a vengeful path against Abby and her group. Although Abby and her companions may have their rationales for their actions, it is challenging for players to sympathize with them due to the strong emotional bonds they’ve formed with characters like Joel and Ellie throughout the game.

It’d be really intriguing for me as a fan to delve deeper into the stories of Abby’s friends, including her own, since I’d love to understand their ultimate fates. This way, fans of The Last of Us can find a sense of resolution in the journeys of these multifaceted characters surviving in such a challenging world.

8. Abby Anderson

Enslaved by Rattlers but Escapes with Lev to Find the Fireflies

In the captivating world of “The Last of Us Part 2”, I found Abby Anderson to be an intricately crafted character that isn’t always easy to embrace at first. Her mission is relentlessly pursuing Joel Miller, a man responsible for my father’s death – the doctor who had been attempting to develop a cure using Ellie. As a remnant of the Fireflies, I yearn for acceptance and belonging, but my actions lead me down a dark path as Ellie retaliates, taking the lives of my friends. Simultaneously, my life is thrown into chaos by my compassionate protection of Lev, a young boy who managed to escape from the WLF’s adversaries, the Seraphites.

After leaving Seattle, Abby joins forces with Lev in search of fragments of the Fireflies. Unfortunately, they are apprehended by the Rattlers in Santa Barbara and forced into labor camps. Despite this, Ellie continues her relentless chase for Abby and eventually rescues her from captivity. However, instead of a violent confrontation, Ellie and Abby engage in a fierce battle – one that could have resulted in Abby’s demise due to her frail condition. In the end, Ellie chooses mercy over vengeance, allowing Abby and Lev to escape on a boat, implying they may have found more of the Fireflies.

7. Jordan

Killed by Ellie After Having His Throat Slashed

Apart from being a member of WLF and being among Abby’s close friends who assisted her in locating Jackson and avenging her father’s death, not much is known about Jordan. However, upon his return to Seattle, Jordan becomes one of Ellie’s initial targets during her quest for revenge, marking a turn for the worse in his storyline.

In a turn of events, Jordan seized Ellie, seeking information due to fears that Jackson’s group might be heading to Seattle with lethal intentions against him. However, at the moment when Jordan hesitated to eliminate Ellie, he met his end. This was because Dina stood beside him, providing Ellie with the chance to break free and ultimately stab Jordan fatally in the neck.

6. Leah

Murdered by the Seraphites

Leah, a fellow member of the WLF and friend of Abby’s, joined the group that aimed to eliminate Joel Miller. Upon her return to Seattle, the WLF leader assigned her a new task: to protect a local television station for a fortnight. This post didn’t remain secure for long, as highly skilled and merciless adversaries of the WLF, known as the Seraphites or Scars, soon launched an attack on the TV station.

Ellie was unable to take her revenge on Leah, as it turned out that the Seraphites had already killed Leah by the time Ellie arrived at the TV station. This happened before Ellie or Tommy had a chance to confront Leah.

5. Manny Alvarez

Shot in the Head by Tommy Miller

Among Abby’s closest friends was a man named Manny, known for his charm and skill in winning over women. Sadly, his last conquest was death. A lieutenant in the WLF, Manny was someone Abby held in high regard, which is why she felt such intense animosity towards Joel Miller upon encountering him. However, Manny, along with the others, erred by choosing to spare Ellie and Tommy’s lives.

Upon Manny’s return to Seattle, he was assigned a mission against the Seraphites. However, an unidentified sniper disrupted the operation, causing Abby and Manny to work together to find the culprit responsible for assassinating the WLF members. It was later revealed that their adversary was none other than Tommy Miller. A botched ambush resulted in Manny getting shot in the head by Tommy’s sniper fire, leading to his immediate demise.

4. Mel

Stabbed to Death by Ellie, Ending Her and Her Unborn Child’s Lives

Mel was deeply involved in the Fireflies, a group dedicated to assisting others. Although what they did to Joel Miller could potentially be considered justified due to her beliefs, it still tormented her. This predicament led Mel to worry about safety and the well-being of her growing family upon her return to the WLF and her pregnancy with Owen’s child. Consequently, she and Owen sought refuge by attempting to flee to the Seattle Aquarium, hoping to escape the turmoil and disputes that surrounded them.

In the end, it was Mel that Ellie found before they could depart, prompting a desperate attempt by Owen to protect them both. With the fear that Ellie would murder them upon learning Abby’s location, Owen tried to engage in a struggle with her, and in turn, Mel attempted to stab Ellie. Unfortunately, this led to Ellie using the knife against Mel, causing fatal wounds. As a result, Mel bled out, and both she and her unborn child were left at the Aquarium.

3. Nick

Tortured and Killed by Tommy Miller

Following his role in the group responsible for Joel Miller’s death, Nick journeyed back to Seattle with a task from the WLF to safeguard the Serevena Hotel. However, his mission was abruptly ended when a vengeful sibling hacked through hordes of infected and WLF. Before the Seraphites, the infected, or Ellie could reach him, Tommy Miller managed to track down Nick, making his trip to Seattle a particularly violent one.

In a chilling discovery, Ellie and Dina stumble upon Nick’s lifeless body. The evidence points clearly to Tommy as the perpetrator, given that he was bound to a chair and coerced into revealing his associates’ whereabouts – a method reminiscent of something Ellie had learned from Joel Miller before. This incident underscores the strong bond between Tommy and Joel, as well as Tommy’s ruthless pursuit of vengeance.

2. Nora Harris

A Medical Officer, Infected with Spores, Then Beaten to Death by Ellie

Nora Harris shares a deep bond with Abby, since her mentor, Jerry Anderson (Abby’s father), was a renowned surgeon for the Fireflies. This training set Nora on a path towards a bright future in medicine. However, tragedy struck when Joel Miller killed Jerry and numerous other Fireflies, prompting Nora to seek vengeance alongside Abby. Once their mission was fulfilled, Nora resumed her everyday life within the WLF, serving as a medical officer at the Lakehill Seattle Hospital.

Ellie successfully gained access to the hospital and located Nora, which triggered a pursuit through the contaminated subterranean passages of the facility. Since Nora lacked a gas mask, her chances of survival were slim, but that didn’t deter Ellie from brutally killing Nora with a lead pipe to force her to reveal Abby’s whereabouts.

1. Owen Moore

Abby’s First Love, Killed by Ellie

Abby and Owen, members of the Salt Lake Crew, share an exceptionally strong bond since Owen was raised with Abby. This tight relationship has led Owen to seek revenge on Joel Miller as passionately as Abby does. However, a change occurs when he learns his girlfriend Mel is expecting. This revelation stirs a sense of compassion in him, prompting him to depart from Seattle and pursue a new life in Santa Barbara, where there may be Fireflies.

However, when Ellie encounters Owen and Mel at the Aquarium, Owen struggles with her for the gun she brandishes to safeguard both Abby and Mel. Tragically, Owen is struck in the chest. The final sight that Owen beheld before his demise was the brutal slaying of Mel and their unborn child, orchestrated by Ellie.
