The “Savage Planet” series is distinctly characterized by its diverse array of critters, ranging from jumping brains to colossal space whales. The latest installment, “Revenge of the Savage Planet“, offers players an opportunity to explore, study, and perhaps even adopt as a pet these intriguing creatures. The recently unveiled fifth planet is no different, though its inhabitants deviate slightly from the norm. Revenge of the Savage Planet’s final and enigmatic world reveals a unique blend of flora and fauna that carries a touch of futuristic charm.
In a conversation with Game Rant, Alex Hutchinson from Raccoon Logic shared some intriguing details about the fifth planet and the climactic co-op Metroidvania-style game “Revenge of the Savage Planet”. Although he couldn’t disclose too much to avoid spoilers, Hutchinson did hint at a secret indoor area, jovially referred to as the “den of fun”, which players will encounter in the final stages of the game. This hidden location is said to be brimming with interesting critters for the players to discover.
Existing Critters Will Return With A Cyber Theme
The debut game in the series, titled “Journey to the Savage Planet,” offered players numerous creatures to engage with. In the upcoming sequel, “Revenge,” even more critters are set to be included. Hutchinson disclosed that the creatures on the fifth planet won’t be entirely novel, but rather enhanced and cybernetically upgraded versions of those players have encountered on the previous planets. This aligns with the theme of the fifth planet, which boasts a 90s aesthetic and is significantly more industrialized and technologically advanced than any of the preceding four.
On the fifth realm, every being is digitally-enhanced versions of their original game characters. These beings have undergone extraordinary cybernetic modifications, sporting features like laser vision goggles, rotating gun turrets, protective plasma barriers, and an assortment of unusual technology. Moreover, some of them can now take to the skies!
It remains undecided which creatures from the game Revenge of the Savage Planet will receive cyber enhancements; let’s ponder over what kind of substance a cyber-enhanced Babutt, a monkey character with a bottom face found in the early stages of the game, might discharge as an attack method. The trailer for the fifth planet offers some clues: a massive monster is depicted shooting what looks like fireballs at the player, while another creature appears to be engulfed in flames or electricity. One fact is indisputable though; following the tradition of Revenge of the Savage Planet, any creatures that reside within this hidden lair will undoubtedly stand out due to their unique design and behavior, offering numerous opportunities for adventurous players to engage with them, perhaps even forming friendships.
