The first episode immediately highlights the threats Subaru will face, including numerous dangerous creatures called mabeasts that Meili can control, and a strange defensive system guarding the Pleiades Watchtower from intruders.
Legend says a wise sage named Shaula lives in the Pleiades Watchtower and might know how to solve the problems plaguing Anastasia, Eridna, and Rem. Shaula could potentially offer a new way to fix issues like Anastasia and Eridna’s physical condition, and Rem’s lost name and memories. However, there’s no promise Shaula will help, as they have no particular reason to get involved.

The first episode of Re:Zero Season 4 didn’t have much action, but it still pleased fans with the dramatic introduction of Anastasia, a sweet moment between Rem and Subaru, and the return of Meili. With Subaru now determined to move forward, the next episode promises to be more action-packed.

Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 2 Release Date and Time
Second Episode Drops April 15, 2026
The second episode of Re:Zero Season 4 will be available to stream starting Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 7:00 AM Pacific Time. It will be released alongside new episodes of other series like Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 3, Dorohedoro Season 2, and Classroom of the Elite Season 4. What to Expect in Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 2?
Now that everything is ready for the Augria Sand Dunes, Subaru and his friends are heading to the desert. Meili and Rem will be joining Emilia’s group. They’ll likely face many dangerous creatures in the desert, but Meili is capable of dealing with them. We might even see Subaru die for the first time in Season 4, although the anime might delay this big moment to build tension first.
