Riot Games Plans To Rebuild League of Legends as ‘League Next’, It’s Claimed

Similar to how Rainbow Six Siege evolved into Rainbow Six Siege X, the popular game League of Legends might be getting a major overhaul, potentially called ‘League Next’. A recent report suggests this update could be the biggest change to the game in its fifteen-year history.

The significant update, expected to be the biggest in over ten years, is currently planned for release in 2027, if everything goes smoothly.

The Most Major Overhaul of League of Legends

League of Legends is a hugely popular game and has been a leader in esports for years. With a massive 100 million players each month, it’s proven to be a long-lasting success. The game’s creators, Riot Games, are always updating and improving it to keep up with the demands of its large player base.

A new Bloomberg report indicates that Riot Games is planning a major update to League of Legends in 2027, internally called ‘League Next’.

The game is getting a major overhaul, with improvements planned for its look, characters, maps, and how players interact with it. This is all aimed at making League of Legends easier to pick up and enjoy for new and hesitant players.

League of Legends recently added WASD controls as part of their ongoing effort to make the game more accessible to new players.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, while VALORANT has a large player base, that number is declining. However, VALORANT is still generating more revenue overall.
